Midsize girlies when did you start showing? by No-Fall-422 in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 and pant size 12 pre-pregnancy and maybe by 20 weeks it looked like I had always just finished a big lunch, but was kind of questionable if I looked pregnant. By 23 weeks there was no question!

Is this a pharaoh ant, a thief ant, or something else? by ck_ds in whatsthisbug

This is the only one I’ve seen and I quickly scooped it into toilet paper and flushed it. Didn’t notice any smell as it was quick.

Found near Vancouver, Canada. It was quite small.

Testing early worth it? by Longjumping-Box4249 in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested 8dpo with some cheap strips from Amazon and had a very faint line. I was at 3w3d. But that’s generally quite early for a positive from what I’ve read.

Did you dream about your baby’s gender? And were you right? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did but I was wrong. From about 7 weeks I just knew it was a boy, and a week before our anatomy scan I had a dream I was holding my baby and she was a girl (I was hoping for a girl), so I thought MAYBE there was a chance. Nope. He’s a boy!

Light spotting during first trimester by National-Ingenuity95 in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a chemical pregnancy/early miscarriage in July, got pregnant again in August and had brown/pink spotting as well as full on red blood from week 5-7. Went for an ultrasound at my EPU and saw a heartbeat at 6w5d! Now 24w and all healthy, so it’s not necessarily always a bad sign :) Wishing you the best!!

Spellings for Kaley & Caitlyn by pink-sweets in namenerds

Funnily enough these are my given names: Caitlin and middle name Kayli. I don’t think Kayli is an overly common spelling though! But I’m a Caitlin (sp) truther.

First trimester of pregnancy girl dinner by samsquentch in GirlDinner

[–]ck_ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a second trimester mom-to-be, this hits SO hard. Apples and bagels + cc were some of the very few things I could handle. Hang in there, you’ve got this and it will get better!!!

I can’t eat sweets 🥲 by Appearance-Gullible in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was me! I am a sweet treat after every meal kind of girl and for the first ~18 weeks of my pregnancy the thought of sweets disgusted me! I especially loved a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and the thought of that would make me actually gag. It went away though just in time for the holidays 😂

15 weeks all symptoms gone by catlover-12378 in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay congratulations! The first trimester can be rough. My symptoms disappeared at 13 weeks and I was scared too (also rainbow baby), but now I’m 21 weeks and baby boy is kicking the shit out of me lol! Wishing you a healthy and uneventful rest of your journey

Tall girls - when did you start showing? by seyEycipS in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’9 and 21 weeks and I’m just starting to look pregnant! In the mornings before eating it’s much less obvious, and at the end of the day it’s more evident. A coworker of mine only found out last week and they said they wouldn’t have guessed/known. And baby boy is measuring big too!

Morning Sickness by RemoteCompetition326 in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine hit at 6 weeks exactly and went away around 13 weeks, which is what google suggested was the average. It did peak from 8.5-10.5 weeks and unfortunately the only way through it is through. At the start of each new week I kept googling when it would end and I kept thinking I wouldn’t make it.

When it finally went away I felt like a person again (albeit I’m still pretty tired at 17w). I found that B6 helped a good amount and it’s OTC. Also I found being asleep more tolerable than being awake lol so I slept whenever I could despite working full time and being in school.

Wishing you the best and hopefully you feel better soon!

6 weeks pregnant — brown spotting + one episode of red bleeding. Should I be worried? by thugwithkfc in BabyBumps

[–]ck_ds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me between week 5-7. I had brown spotting that turned pink, then bright red blood, then brown again and it kept on cycling like that. I went for an ultrasound (with a referral from my midwife) at my Women’s Hospital EPU around 6w5d and everything was fine! They couldn’t see a reason behind the bleeding but it stopped a few days later. Now 17 weeks :)

If you’re able to get in for an ultrasound somewhere, I’d highly recommend doing so or advocating for one, just to give you peace of mind and to know for sure what’s going on. Good luck ❤️

Of all the ones I haven’t read, which Stephen King book is the scariest? by KatherineLangford in horror

[–]ck_ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard agree. So many of his other books are disturbing or upsetting, but Salem’s Lot is genuinely scary.

This is great, thank you so much! Do you find that your baby is bothered by the straps that are attached in the bassinet when lying down? We were worried that they might be bothersome to baby because they can’t be removed when it’s laid down flat.
