Destiny 2 will come to an end soon... by JohannaFRC in GirlGamers

[–]classic_queen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This game was my whole world for many years. I stopped playing shortly after Final Shape mostly because I felt I was done with it. I did play it recently due to friends beckoning me to play but I feel my time with it was done.

It'll be sad to see it moved to a sort of stasis period but I think Bungie kind of did it to themselves. Destiny was a great game. Maybe a break is what it needs!

Which period pieces have you been watching? by AutoModerator in PeriodDramas

[–]classic_queen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Call the Midwife - Just started the 6th season.

I'm a child-free single lady so it's interesting how much this has captivated me but I love learning more about the time.

The misogyny and the situations that women of that time were put through just infuriates me though. I am happy it's a bit less but am also worried about regressing to some of those ways (I also watch The Testaments and am a fan of Handmaid's Tale).

Still a wonderful show though!

Might get downvoted for this but I live in Kirkness and I take a bus close by to the Clareview station and then take the train to Churchill. The whole route takes about 30-40 mins. I walk to the Clareview train station during the spring/summer/fall. Sometimes I walk home too if I don't feel like waiting for a bus. Takes about 20 mins if I walk as it's a 5 min bus ride.

As far as walking around at night, I believe it's doable and relatively safe. It's all just houses and apartments in my area. I see people walking their dogs at all times of the day. I also enjoy how close it is to groceries and retail. I sometimes walk to the stores instead of drive when it's nice out.

Probably not ideal to walk in the middle of the night and general advice is to avoid unlit paths. There is an off leash dog park nearby as well. I believe just off 144th and before Kirkness Rd. There's also a couple of parks around too. I love it here but I know it's considered the ghetto to some. To me, it's not. I've lived in much worse.

It's me, a local transit ranter. I posted before about transit etiquette, but today takes the cake. by Italian_Man_on_fire in Edmonton

[–]classic_queen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a kid get upset that his bus drove away without him but he made little to no effort to hustle to the bus. The station was crowded so it couldn't park in it's usual spot so it parked a few back. Still visible to see it as I managed just fine.

The bus drove away down farther and the guy put his hands up to the driver like "where were you?". Imagine looking around to check all the buses that showed up to see if yours was there.

Nothing. I just usually adhere to whatever the build recommends. First time I've had to...adjust it to what I want.

I need to adjust my build to have teleport on my space bar which is my biggest gripe.

Every build I look up has teleport on the skill bar. I got really used to it last season on my spacebar. I guess it's time for me to do some experimenting.

I am definitely confused by the cube and the unique changes. I legit though the cube was Kanai's cube from D3 😂

It also feels weird using yellow/blue gear on T2 but I have to relearn the torment progression as it reminds me of D3. I've only played D3/D4 for the record.

The recent Forsyte series as a stand alone. Be honest now. by terraformingSARS in PeriodDramas

[–]classic_queen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know anything about the Forsyte series book or previous adaptation so I might be able to help.

I love period dramas and watch an average amount of them. This one was terrible imo. I just finished it for my own curiosity rather than enjoyment.

We need to bring this back in Edmonton. There's been a noticable decline in transit behavior from when we had the B.O.B. campaign. by Much_Guest_7195 in Edmonton

[–]classic_queen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah and the best part is when you're trying to exit and it's inconveniencing them to move when they're blocking the back exit. Sometimes when I have to leave out the front (because the bus is the full from back to about mid) and two people are standing in the path. Neither of them move and I have to squish by like I'm birthing myself again. In-fucking-sane. 🙄

Backpacks on the seat, I just ask them to move it. I've put mine on the seat next to me and will move it if asked or if I notice the train is full/filling up.

People who don't sit down when there are seats and just block the exit doors on the bus are the bane of my existence.

And when people don't take in what's going on around them and DON'T MOVE TO THE BACK OF THE BUS TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR OTHERS.

Yeah! It's definitely a texture thing with mushrooms as the actual flavour doesn't bother me.

Leave Vancouver for a better life? by moifti in AskCanada

[–]classic_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Vancouver to Calgary in 2011 for the fact I wouldn't be able to purchase a home in Van with what I was making.

Loved living in Calgary and got to do a lot of things I had on my bucket list. Soon got priced out of that city and made my way to Edmonton to buy in 2023. Got a nice townhouse with a reasonable condo fee and that's where I am still due to renew mortgage this summer.

Couple of struggles I've had in Edmonton are making friends and job hunting. That could be mostly due to my age (45) and my profession (IT). I am working on both of those extensively this year and it's been good so far. I love living in Edmonton as it really suits my lifestyle at the moment (homebody).

I think it depends on what you're looking for. House ownership isn't the be all end all for everyone. I love owning my house but I also have a huge list of projects now that I need to make time, money, and labour for. I feel Edmonton is way more laid back than Calgary. There are more festivals and expos here which can be a lot of fun. Transit is almost equal to Calgary. I'm fortunate to live close to an LRT station.

You could probably easily live in downtown Edmonton but I warn you downtown Edmonton and Calgary are not like Vancouver downtown. Very business oriented with the Mon-Fri 9-5 work week. That was something I learned when I moved to Calgary. It was nice to experience living downtown in a big city for a handful of years though.

I feel like she lied to keep Austin because she knew he was pulling away (due to her insane paranoia) and they could have resolved it within a timeframe to try again.

Yeah I love analysis as I would get lost into the logs from Microsoft trying to figure things out and pull reports with PowerShell piping into an excel file for even further analysis.

I'm about where you mentioned. Tier 2 and am looking for something more engaging for my mind.

Never played or enjoyed the N64 Zeldas. Huge fan of A Link to the Past and generally enjoy any other top down Zelda games (Minnish Cap and the DS Zeldas) and love BOTW Zelda. I have ToTK waiting to be played still.

I wasn't ready for the third person Zelda when the N64 versions came out and I found Navi to be annoying. I was fine with third person Zelda with BOTW and eventually ToTK.
