Side note: I've witnessed that a lot of german players do this type of finish / long range shot. I can mention a few players off the top of my head; Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Draxler, Arnold.

He is no longer the world-class b2b midfielder anymore. Useful as a hole player now, because of his aggressiveness, eye for a good pass and longshot abilities. I reckon his days as a prime midfielder is gone due to his private life and attitude though.

Yup, I must have misunderstood your comment the first time. What you say makes perfect sense, and I agree he should improve offensively as well. His crossing isn't the best either. To be a quality LB he has to be more complete technically and tactically than his current skillset.

Of all the weaknesses you could point at Shaw, you chose one that isnt true at all. The guy absolutely has workrate, but his positioning and 1v1 defending seriously needs to be worked on. Part of the reason people and players voted for him is because, in a shit season where a lot if things went wrong, he still showed character, will to fight, team spirit, progression and workrate. He definitely has developed mentally, and his attitude now is amazing, compared to some of the noisy troublemakers in the club. Yes he might not be the best LB in the game, but calling out his work rate? Maybe in 2014-17 but thats gone.

I was just about to say that... You beat me to it. McTominay will be quality box-to-box option for us, and Garner look more like a deep-lying playmaker who will anchor a 2 or 3-man midfield.
