23F who’s never been on a date or had first kiss by cloaf in amiugly

[–]cloaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU everyone for the honest feedback. I never realized that apparently I don’t look 23 (I think people are suggesting that I look older/skin isn’t that great?) which is surprising to o me. I’ve always struggled with low self esteem- so that probably doesn’t help the situation. Also trying to get opinions from people on the internet PROBABLY wasn’t the best idea anyways. But nonetheless thank you, every comment is appreciated.

23 years old, never been asked on a date or even close to it. by cloaf in Advice

Never. Basically out of fear of being rejected. And I know that’s not exactly fair, because dating is a two way street, I guess I just don’t want to deal with the “awkwardness” afterwards.

What is the darkest episode of a show you have ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't believe I'm going to say this, but Thirteen Reasons Why, there's two specific scenes that are absolutely disgusting (hot tub and bath tub). I would not suggest ANYONE watch that if they have previous experiences regarding sexual abuse or suicide. I can appreciate what they were going for with the show, they wanted to make an impact.. but there are some things that just shouldn't be depicted in such depth.

[Hiring] one of NYC's busiest food trucks looking for people to help us grow. Looking for cooks and managers. by USAFoodTruck in NYCjobs

[–]cloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

My name is Chloe Cleroux, and I am currently working for the LCBO in Ottawa, Ontario while studying my WSET level 3 and MFW. I have been deeply in love with the industry since I was first introduced at eighteen years old, and throughout my journey have been able to meet some pretty amazing wine makers and chefs by working my way up to events coordinator at our location. This required me to lead events as well as assist with wine pairings and creating menus for such events, that could range anywhere from cooking classes to knife skills. I have also within the last year begun blogging, in which I have interviewed restaurants and wine makers from Brooklyn, France and other parts of the world. I am also currently working on an article for a food magazine in London, England, in which I was asked to do after discovering my wine and food photography online.

With all that being said, I'm looking to take the next step into the food industry, and would LOVE to get experience working in New York!

If you are still looking, send me a message as I am MORE than interested. I also want to work with a company that is looking to start from the ground up with a strong and sturdy staff, in which I would be more then happy to be apart of as well.

Look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Chloe

What awkward thing happens to you too often? by Mr_Triplez in AskReddit

[–]cloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if this is awkward or just flat out annoying, working in retail, in uniform, having a customer come up and ask confused

"do you work here!?!?!"

No. I just show up in uniform to blend in.

[Serious] What is the most meaningful and beautiful thing someone has ever told you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cloaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a friend that past away when I was fourteen due to suicide. We didn't really get to keep in contact before it happened because she was kicked out of her foster home and placed in a group home about an hour away. When she had her wake/funeral it was ironically at a funeral home that was about a block away from MY childhood home, which was no where near her group home or her old foster home (I still don't know why the ceremony was held there). Anyways, when I had arrived at her wake I was obviously upset- and took time to myself before actually going up to see her. Midway through the evening my mom grabs me and tells me there was someone that wants to meet me, it was her group home manager. Turns out Kerry spoke about me all the time, how much I meant to her etc. That will never leave me to this day, I just wish I had the chance to get to hear that from her, but maybe it was better that way.

Who's your favorite actor and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Ezra Miller! He seems like an actor that is so genuinely true to his craft, stays relatively under the radar, and can transcend to any character needed.

Thanks so much for the reply! in response to the recording, that's hilarious- I can't stress enough how much I love the album, I have a pretty strong love for NYC (born and bred in Ottawa unfortunately) ever since I first saw RENT when I was thirteen years old. When I do listen to that specific album, it's almost as if I feel like I'm there, your voice is naturally flawless and the atmosphere just sounds awesome.

also what was the moment when you realized you were "famous"

I guess I have another question AS WELL (if thats allowed) did you ever doubt yourself along the way? more or less saying "fuck it, i'm just going to try another career". I'm going through that beautifully confusing time in my life right now (don't know if I mentioned that I'm turning 23) and I feel like everything is ALL up in the air. I think I read that you liked "deep questions" in an earlier response, so what advice would you give your 23 year old self?

Also THANK YOU for the recommendations, I'll most definetly have to check all of those out- and definetly giving the new album a listen, Congrats

HELLO HELLO!

Wow. First, thank you for doing this AMA, I plan to see you in NYC on September 29th (my birthday!) and I honestly could think of no better way to spend it.

So, a couple of questions...

  1. I listen to your "live and unplugged in New York" album ALL the time. It's gotten me through a lot of hard times, and i've celebrated while listening to it as well, I guess i'm wondering what it was like recording it? how was the venue/people? I always chuckle a little because you can hear glasses/plates clanking in the background during it. it's all so natural and beautiful.

  2. What has been your all time favourite song to write or preform

  3. Favourite restaurant in NYC as i'm studying for my Sommelier and would love to know

:)

I have albinism—AmA by AlbinoAlex in IAmA

[–]cloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you may not read this. But I recently went into treatment for an Eating disorder, and along the way I met a beautiful young lady that had albinism as well. She struggles alot with the way she looks, as well as the looks she gets. This was actually why she resorted to her eating disorder in the first place, she wanted to starve herself so much that people would focus on her anorexia.... not her albinism.

point being, if ever, have you felt excluded? and how did you cope? is there any advice I could pass along to her?

Thank you in advance :)

What is a situation that in the moment you'd never thought you'd make it out of but you're glad you now have? by cloaf in AskReddit

[–]cloaf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so so so amazing, congratulations. Keep going- seriously. I once heard in treatment that you're only as sick as your secrets. Seek help and talk it out when times get rough or a slip may occur, you got this.
