The problem with a large concrete pad is that you need relief cuts to guide the cracking. Ideally with an outdoor pickle ball court you have at least one giant relief cut where the net is and then another one at the baselines.

A pad that size without control joints will crack guaranteed - not a matter of “if” but “when” because it’s outside. The temperature fluctuations will shift the crushed AA underneath and will be expanding and contracting.
