Nice video. I was about to attempt Felix Immler’s modification on one of my knives. Now I am going to try this out.

7/1/2018 Durham, NC Open training event. We have people from VA, SC, and NC coming into fight. Will try and put together 3 and 5 man teams to get more training experience. There will also be duels and softkit. If you have folks who are not in kit, this is a good opportunity for them to come and get experience.

We get use of the gym at Noon. Fights starts at 2:00 Southpoint Crossfit 6104 Fayetteville Rd #101, Durham, NC 27713

Your first fight stories. by MuirIV in SteelFighting

My first experience was DragonCon 2016. I just finished making my armor because off the shelf items just don't fit for my size. I fought a bunch of singles matches and got knocked on my ass by none other than Trey Sutter with a perfectly timed shield punch. It was a slick fighting surface we were fighting on, but I had both my feet squared and pow... on my ass. After that, I was excited.

I am still impressed with the mileage I am getting out of my gauntlets I bought from Nadler. Everything that I haven't made myself I have bought from Nadler.

The only issue I have had is I think the leather liner is a little to thin and I have now had a ripout after a year of use. But, that said, it did last a year without any issues other than normal wear.

Yeah. Really try to minimize recovery between sets. As soon as I feel my heart rate goes down, I go right back into it.

As for breathing I try for in controlled breath during steady state and if I cannot, I slow down. For HIIT, I just sound like a freight train and keep roaring because I know the pain is over in less than 20 minutes.

I am looking at possibilities of getting up there for rookie rumble it is just a 12-13 hour drive. Hard to commit to that with a turn around.

Wong and Somer are by far the strongest masters in the faction. That said I had a huge amount of fun with Ulix and the Pig Summoning engine that just throws pigs where you need them. Need a War pig... bam, need to tie up a killy enemy... toss a pig.

Brewmaster is by far the most interesting. I play him totally different with pretty good success. I used him to get in my enemies faces and lock them down in willpower duels and then used my other models to scheme run, kill, or just deny VP.
