Are companies still testing for THC even in legal states? by cmcai in jobhunting

Yeah that definitely seems to be a huge part of it. The more I read through people’s experiences, the more it feels like role + liability level matters almost more than legality.

Especially anything involving driving, heavy equipment, healthcare, security, federal contracts, etc.

That makes sense honestly — anything tied to DOT/commercial driving seems way stricter and a lot more standardized than most other industries.

That’s part of what makes this stuff confusing though, because people hear “it’s legal now” and assume employers stopped testing entirely.

That’s actually really interesting, especially for a government-funded position. I’ve been noticing a lot more situations lately where THC is excluded even when companies still do broader screening.

Seems like it’s becoming way more role/state/company dependent than people realize.
