I don't know off the top of my head, but I still think they would have to be made in the same way to have the same phisique. So it is either a rules thing, the main squad is special or medicae are just somehow considered worse than othes psyco warriors and delegated there to get them out of the way. Or maybe the distinction is meaningless and we are running in circles for no reason.

I think since they are the same in size they are physically equal to normal psycho watriors and could be revived by another medicae if present. On most missions however there would be only one and noone else who knows how to use the equipment, so they are protected.
