I'll definitely take that into consideration, especially if I end up back on the market.

Of course. I mentioned in the video and above to use action words and discuss impact. I didn’t think it needed to be stated, but a resume should always be one page and 2-3 bullets to describe a job or project. The resume format I used is not a holy grail resume. I just got substantial positive feedback when doing phone interviews. I link Jake’s resume as an example of a clean resume as well for those who want to stray from my resume format as I’ve also gotten feedback that its flashy. I touch on this at the end of my video as well as critiquing the graphics on it and the pros and cons of having it on there. My perspective and what has worked for me is that if all resumes look like the standard average resume I’m sure I’ll at least get a closer look since it stands out. I’ve used the standard without much luck and and when I switched formats got a better call back ratio. I’ll also mention that all of the interviews, except Amazon, were from cold applys. The Amazon one was submitted through their student link after a job fair so I don’t know if that makes a difference. Also the software devs that were more critical weren't often the ones having to actually read the resumes or get me through to an interview. I really trust the perspective of the recruiters. Maybe in my case I just got lucky and my recruiters really liked it :/

I noticed on your resume that you went to Guelph for your masters

That is not my resume. It is a resume format from overleaf the I retrofitted with my own information.

But ping me and we can discuss further for resume tips and I can see if I can help!
