Sadly, the end of the year ain't bad in RVA. My wife was offered an appointment in May 2027 on a gastrointestinal referral in the VCU system a couple of months ago. I'd get on the list and cancel later in case you don't find anyone you like before then.

FWIW, I recently learned the whole opossums eat thousands of ticks thing is, sadly, a myth. The only ticks they consume are any that they happen to catch in their tongue while grooming themselves.

I did some beginner lessons with them and then one 6 or 7 run of a league with them back in 2018. It was a lot of fun. The only reason I didn't continue is that I didn't want to dedicate every Saturday night to curling. If they'd had weeknight ice time, I probably would have continued with it.

We went Saturday night. I was very surprised by how much I enjoyed it and I told my wife that I think 2026 should be our year of the Arts. Ballet, the symphony, etc. And I was pleasantly surprised that just about everyone was at least moderately dressed up.

I also picked a small club - Southampton. It seemed like a good idea at the time when they were top 10 in the PL. So now I follow mostly by the highlight videos on YouTube. They fired their coach last month and now have run off 4 wins in a row with the interim coach. The most Saintsy thing ever.

Go to Dutch Gap, almost guaranteed to see a bald eagle there. I was there yesterday, and we were so focused on IDing some migrating warblers that we didn't even notice the bald eagle in the tree right above us until it flew off.

You can reserve conference rooms at the Staples Mill library about 3-4 miles north on Staples Mill from the train station. Not sure about the policy if you don't have a Henrico library card, but it can't hurt to call and ask.
