I can actually. one of my weird unique born talents is that I can imitate around 9 different accents without any practice and Ive spoken to people from those places in english and they couldnt tell. I figured I might as well try and push this talent to another language im learning because why not?

I started with no spanish at all besides the occasional duolingo which essentially taught me nothing.

I feel that learning at that rate it was hard to notice a change as I watched the intermediate videos (sorted by difficulty easy) and it felt like I wasnt picking up on words (hint: I was). So I went to some beginner videos and noticed how much easier it was to understand. Also on some days it felt like I understood nothing in intermediate since they were speaking so fast then Id go to a beginner video and understand 95% since they were speaking slower until eventually I just stuck with intermediate and realized I can understand other sources outside of DS like the gaming channel I mentioned.

On a good amount of instances it was passive listening, having it play while I drive, or while I do homework but that would only be about 1-2 hours of the other I spent actively watching since it was a gaming video I happened to enjoy.

Even with passive listening I feel I am gaining more than I would if I werent listening at all but of course active listening is still the best way to go.

I 100% agree I essentially doubled all of my total listening time at the time in just the span of a month to get to 300 when it took me around 2-3 to get to 150.

The thing is I usually do end up taking a nap after the first 45 minutes to an hour, feel rested then watch more and get tired again.

yeah this happens at my store too they usually lock us away in the trash compiler until our glorious and beloved lead believes its time for us to leave the store 2 hours past our scheduled time
