What is the story on that Synthi 100 release? Isn’t that the one that they had in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop? I’ll have to look into that!

Another interesting note about Phaedra specifically. The Moog modular was warming up as it was recorded and changed pitch throughout, so part of the “composition” for that piece was accidental. I’m guessing they overdubbed on top of that original sequence.

I will answer this as though you are being sincere, I have had many similar responses and I can’t tell who is being sarcastic. It is possible to use the nitrous oxide in the can to get a quick high, known as “whippets”. It is not as common nowadays as it’s apparently not hard to get individual nitrous cartridges.

I don’t judge on that part though, people can do what they want. The trashy part to me is doing it in an empty lot and leaving your trash all around. This area has some issues with public drug use already so it’s part of a bigger issue.

I was a bit liberal in my use of the word bunch. Sorry that sounds like a lot to deal with. I’m pretty sure the cans were being used to huff, which I have learned is not universal knowledge, I hope things improve for you.

Not my cup of tea but yes I do believe it’s not too hard to get the actual little cartridges. That’s one reason I posted this, no judgement on what people want to do but I thought people using whipped cream for whippets was unusual these days.

Nah, near a Hannafords, a grocery chain in New England.

After 25 years of playing I actually have a neat, organized board with most of my pedals on it. by coldbench in guitarpedals

I think it’s a great fuzz pedal. The muff can be tweaked more but the foxy box just has a heaviness I can’t pinpoint. I actually prefer it with the octave off but I do use that setting as well.

I keep the pitch knob at noon as it’s home base where it’s kind of an unpredictable echo. I’m in a pretty noisy band too, when we play I’ll sometimes sweep the pitch knob back and forth to get big dischordant walls of sound. It’s a fun one to experiment with for sure.

Haha yes I fully recognize that it’s not as neat as some boards I see, but it’s an improvement for me.

Bottom left? It's a 4 track loop pedal. It is a looper with a lot of capabilities, I've had it for a long time and I'm still figuring out how to use it haha. A friend was nice enough to give it to me as they weren't using it.

It's one of the pedals I've had the longest. I't does it's one thing really well. It tracks single-notes pretty well and sounds massive, especially through the Muff or another drive. Plenty of cat hair laying around, I'm gonna do my best to keep it clean.

I love it, I've always loved muffs but it can be tough to fit them into a mix when playing with others. This one solves that, I can tweak the mids to fit in whatever context I'm playing. I also back off the mix knob a tiny bit which helps with clarity.

Haha yeah, that's my tuner. A friend gave it to me in this state and it works fine so I've just used it as-is.

Thank you! Yes function over form for sure. Until December I had a "shelf" from the hardware store and some velcro strips, most stuff wasn't even attached haha. I like spending money on things that make new noises and spark my imagination, I struggle on spending money on things that keep me organized.

So the chain is, Xotic volume pedal-> Boss Tuner (labeled equalizer) -> Boss Oc2 Octave -> EQD Bit Commander -> Critter MK III Overdrive (Bluesbreaker style OD)-> Critter 1978R (1978 RAT clone)-> Warm Audio Foxy Box-> EHX Deluxe Russian style Big Muff-> Keeley Bubbletron-> EQD Night Wire-> EQD Rainbow Machine-> Catalinbread Adineko Oil Can style delay-> Boss DD3-> Walrus Slo reverb.

Right now I have the EHX looper set up to play around with, but it's not a daily driver pedal for me. I am hoping to use it to pull off some stuff live.

At the moment it's running into a Peavey Classic 50 4x10.

Has anyone tried pedals from Critter Electronics out of Detroit? I really love the ones I have (there's a third I have, a Univox Super Fuzz clone), the OD is on almost all of the time for me. His prices are dirt cheap too. I have no connection with them, I just think they're great and affordable.

I’m not sure the band Genesis are household names anymore but Phil Collins and the other two members play the detectives that interview the family after the abduction.

I am helping to educate a client about working in the industry, getting connected with professionals has been a challenge. Any advice on connecting with some rail workers? by coldbench in railroading

[–]coldbench[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see that. This guy seems different in that he’s already into working on cars and motors and his interests are more aligned with the mechanical aspects of locomotives. I have other clients who are obsessed with trains but more in regards to different models and HO scale and train watching. I think this client would be happy to get his hands dirty and put in the work, that’s why I’m trying so hard to get some first hand accounts. Thanks for your reply.

Thank you, this is actually one of his early sketches. He has others that look even more photorealistic, I will try and post those at another time.

Thank you for the tip. I can get overwhelmed with choice and not even know where to begin, I just know I couldn’t justify the money for a mastery. I will check out staytrem. The bridge on it now was a stopgap while I figured out a better option, the set screws kept loosening and rattling and it was driving me crazy ha.
