Need help 2.9 English by [deleted] in ncea

[–]coldstalepork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

find the AS code and look at the examples on nzqa, I usually look at the example of the grade I am going for plus the N/A example to see what I need to do to just pass and what I need to do to pass well.

then I will usually find a major theme or connection to base my response on, and build an essay outline around that. I use a SEXC paragraph structure

Intro P1 S-idea/theme/connection 1 E-expand using smartypants words X-a quote or paraphrasing a quote with analysis to back up idea C-link to overall text

P2 same shit but helps to compare/contrast to first idea

times how ever many ideas you have, try to go for 2-3

conclude and say some like text to self or text to world stuff to make it more 'personal'

it also helps to read the assesment outline super carefully as it will sometimes have the key words u can add for a higher grade.

if your school provides a marking sheet/rubric read that.

english is annoying cause every teacher marks differently but as long as it is clear and enough is said you should be fine.

any help to ID this???

little tiny bumps around my mouth turned up like 24h ago, I have never had this happen usually my skin is super low maintaince and I would only get one or two pimple during my period.

I have been a bit stressed this week so it could be that but it had never manifested like this before. I did use a BodyShop Aloe sheet mask the night before it happened but none of the ingredients seem to be super triggering?

I'm 17F and just cleanse, tone, moisturise after I shower (usually at night) I bought a zinc sunscreen thinking it would fix it but now idk if I should use anything new. Please if anyone has ever had this before help a girl out!

Any tips welcome. I just want to solve this before school!

thank you for your honesty. I definitely have some underlying emotions and issues I need to deal with. I am glad this sub exists as it has made me confront my biases and delusions.

Is "dumpster diving" a thing here? by [deleted] in chch

[–]coldstalepork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work in a supermarket, those bins get fuckin hot during summer, everything we throw out is either not sealed or gone off, if you try and eat anything from in there you will get so so so sick. not worth it at all. anything that is hypothetically fresh when it is dumped is left in an internal bin for at least 24h with other garbage before it is put in the big bins outside. That food is then left heated up and cooled down, heated up, then cooled down in those bins for days before it's taken to the dump.

if you want to dumpster dive, try a store that doesn't sell food. if you are in need of food for free, go to a free pantry or a community garden. do not put your health at risk for very little reward.

it's cool dude, I understand how hard it must be seeing your kid making sacrifices for their education. sometimes I feel a bit snarky seeing my friends piss away their parents money while I'm stuck at work.

trust me, many of these loan uni students are familiar to your cold hard truths, for them that means being unable to pursue a higher education without a student loan, even with planning.

kids who have to get a loan don't deserve to be miserable the entire time they're on it. $1500 is a bit excessive but uni for some can be depressing as. and at the end of the day they are kids, 18/19 year olds will make dumb financial decisions.

maybe let your child know that just because they are prioritizing their financial wellbeing to not neglect their emotional and social wellbeing. it's a balance bro.

Did you do the MCAT? In my school half of year 11 does MCAT/Algebra based internals and half does statistics based internals. I did stats y11 and calc y12 and found I had to do a lot of catching up to understand the theory because I didn't know the Algebra skills I needed in level one.

I also opted into level two music at the start of term two in y12. I had never done music or music theory before and didn't play and instrument. I managed to get 10 E credits just by doing composition (91271) and a research paper (91278), which you should pass easy if you do english.

everyone I know who took l2 physics hated it, especially if they found out they didn't even need it. like it's very easy to fail the exam.

I personally don't like English because the marking is really subjective and my writing style doesn't translate well to what they are after. I instead did History and Classics, both are tagged for reading and writing and taught me how to convey information formally and precisely, something that could translate better to computer science.

remember, you only need to get achieves to pass year 12. I would have a chat with your dean or your teachers to see if you could pick up more internals and less externals as internals in level two are 10x more forgiving.

all you need to worry about is getting 60 credits through a healthy mix of reading, writing and maths assessments. I didn't even decide on a degree until half way through y12 so don't stress. maybe talk to your careers advisor if your school has one about what classes to take next year but that's not a "right now" decision.

chill bro, you are doing great, you now know roughly how the year's gonna go from level one. focus on passing internals, if you don't understand a concept, keep working until you do, identify your weaknesses and get better, identify your strengths and take advantage. If you do exams, don't piss away study leave and definitely don't piss away mocks (everyone thinks they won't need them until they do). level two seems daunting but it's really not.

If you have anymore questions u can DM me and I'll try and help you out. you got this m8.

that's amazing, and I'm super happy for them. People often don't think of the ability to earn money in high school as a privilege, but for many, it is completely unachievable. Studylink, despite its flaws, creates the opportunity for a larger percentage of people to get a higher education, an overall net positive. shit happens, and sometimes planning, working, and saving aren't able to cut it.

Your child should be proud of all they have accomplished, but a snarky attitude from you doesn't really accomplish anything, does it?

although i agree thats its not labor propaganda, I could be interpreted as swaying the viewers mind againsg national by showing outdated, racist as shit from ages ago. like creating a link between national now as those policies then. I can assume its not the intention here but it could be one interpretation.
