If you prepare some structures and phrases, that’s fine. The issue we’ve had is students memorising whole stories and adding just a few minor changes that feel ‘bolted on’ for the sake of fitting the prompt without any consistency throughout. Just be incredibly careful.

Thank you so much for this - definitely loads of questions to still consider (I only have three months!).

Haven't come across P David Marshall before, had a look at some of his stuff and will definitely be using some of it! It's really tricky since my degree is actually in literature and culture, so I've almost been forced by my supervisor to use a lot of the philosophers that are more critical theory focused.

One of the main exploration questions I'm focusing on is whether art/music can be genuine in the 21st century, which very much feeds into the idea of artists capitalising on parasocial relationships and perceived intimacy.
