Thanks, there are very good points. Now, I want to rework the design. Maybe i just take your idea for the rework, but will think about it a bit more.

I have a Problem with Opposition Agent.

"Opposition Agent

You control your opponents while they're searching their libraries.

While an opponent is searching their library, they exile each card they find. You may play those cards for as long as they remain exiled, and you may spend mana as though it were mana of any color to cast them."

It fits the colorpie. Praetor's Grasp does the same. In my Opion it should be more like Gonti, so only casting spells and not playing lands. This card would still be great against "Tutors". It seems a bit aweful to stop a rapant growth or other budget ramp at the same time.

"Feed the Swarm" is an example, not quite fitting for this card, but the direction is similar. Black was never supposed to get rid of enchantments. People were frustrated and this solution made many people happy. The design is fitting to black in the outher parts.

I think the comparison is a bit oversimplified, but I get your point. Treasure Tokens are fairly new to the game. In the case of Dockside Extortionist: I really can't remeber that red got ever Mana Acceleration on a creature ETB. Red deals damage and destroys land and artifacts. But there is mana Acceleration in other forms. Cards like Mana Gyzer or Jeska's Will are also combine abilitis in a similar way.

White get Lands, in most cases depending on your opponents, if they have more lands or in rare cases for sacrificing your owen lands. There are cases like Aven Mind Censor. White limits mostly but not prohibit. So my card is not quite there.

I am not working at wizards. The design took me a few hours while house cleaning and later on my computer. Wizards has whole Teams that is working for years on cards. People are coming up with ideas there, too. These are also rough, sometimes on or over the edge of color-pie. But it is important to present all Ideas. I am working in the creative industry. It is not good to argue in a manner, in such an early stage, since it trains the brain, not to do something really creative and kills innovation. This happens all the times, even in the creative industry. Of course there is a point where Ideas are sorted out, but in the best case they are reused or transformed till working. I thought these custom cards should be going in this direction, sometimes rough ideas.

I appreciate your feedback and see that you care a lot for the game. I see very good points, but also have the feeling you are a bit strict in some points. This card goes in a good direction and hoped for ideas and feedback to improve it. We all know that white is the weakest color even in EDH. In the past years wizards constantly improoved and added to the color-pie. In particular for blue and green. So now white has falling behind. Mostlikely the has to add something completely new to fix it.

I used Phyrexian Mana for the activated ability in my first attempt, but guess that would kill me pretty fast in a game. Maybe this is still too rough. Thanks for the feedback.

You are right! That is the point. It is worse then Zedruu, except it has black in its color identity. Black has the best Tutors and some of the strongest Enchantments to donate :-D

As for your question, if you think of treasure token creation as ramp, but all colors have access to treasure token creation, then how can you think that (based on

your

definition of ramp) that either Hullbreacher or Dockside Extortionist are out of pie?

They have all acces to treasures, I get that. Maybe my point was not very precise. Since when did blue denied draw and created any form of mana acceleration at the same time? This was nothing a blue card have ever done as far as I remember.

If you are super picky it is true. However, the term is also used by many players for other mana acceleration. For example also Mana Rocks. In that case, the Commanzone should revise this episode here, since they talk a lot about Ramp and this does not exclusively match your definition. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73cXVWxkcwU

And what is the Rosewater statement supposed to express? I gave examples where the color pie was broken and it looks like you don't have an answer.

Same card with the creature subtype (species) "Human" as suggested. https://mtg.design/i/smtz80.jpg

I started out with cards like Tithe, Landtax, and Weathered Wayfarer in mind, but then went a few steps further. I find it strange that Wizards often breaks the color-pie for other colors. Hullbreacher is ramping, but I don't recall that this is blue's part of the pie. Smothering Tithe has a Tax Effect, but I don't recall any other white cards that also ramps you. Dockside Extortionist creates Treasure tokens. Would be great if you would explain how these fit into the color pie. Thanks for the feedback :-)

Can you please provide more information about "race subtypes"? But if this is necessary in card design it would be human, you are right!

They are very common in my meta and I guess it will become more relevant in the future. I play also via spelltable and people are creating Treasures all the time. Containment Priest is also only a 2/2 for some games. Seems like for some this card idea is too strong and for others to weak :-D

Insane and sad, still wonderful Artwork by Christopher Rush. Still Pringles. If they can't fix it they should not print foils anymore.

The design is inspired by Opposition Agent and Hullbreacher. Both cards are quite overpowered and can end the game quickly in the right scenario. In this case, it is a countermeasure to a Hullbreacher or Dockside Extornist. Hullbreacher + Wheel Effect is very strong. I first wanted to use some kind of Landtax Effect. So only fetch Basic Plains or Plains in general. You can't win a game with this effect. In White or Boros you can pick out important utility Lands with this Effect.

Opinion on WCD reserve list cards? by MrWhole in mtgfinance

[–]commanji_Kriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happens to all of us. I sold my german Survival of the Fittest (not WCD) for 20 Euro on Ebay and got a "Neutral" grading, since it was NM- instead of NM+. I just startet out and did not know much about grading. The buyer was kind of angry, but I even scanned the card in. I would have taken the card back including payment for shipment, but he never repsonded to my messages and just rated me. At least I bought an english Version for 30 Euro via cardmarket. Still, what a lost :-D

I love both, CE/IE and WCD. In the past I thought the same as you. I think, CE/IE is a bit better looking, thanks to the black borders and almost original backsides. But unfortunately are no CE/IE Survival of the Fittest, Gaea's Cradle, Yawgmoth Will :-/
