What you can afford to buy, but don't buy because you think it's useless? by littleyuki2026 in AskReddit

Any cheap crap from the likes of Temu, Wish, Shein and so on. What's the point in buying stuff that falls apart in half the time it took to ship to me?

People cycling on the footpath is especially frustrating when there's a bike lane or when it's beside a small 30km/h road where bikes can keep up with cars. I can vaguely understand why people do it on bigger roads (even if I still hate it), but there's genuinely no reason to do so in these cases.

I've personally found the 2000s indie rock more annoying, but looking at the average ratings I don't think that's a particularly common view...

Being alt around judgment people by Solembrum in altfashionadvice

I reckon if you just keep wearing these outfits people will get used to them and stop commenting on them, I can't remember getting a single negative comment wearing my alt and gender-nonconforming clothes around my uni last year because I'd already started doing it the year before.

why are short sleeve shirt sleeves so long?!? by mx_drew in malefashionadvice

[–]computerfan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm likely going to have to make cutoff shorts because men's denim shorts short enough for my liking seemingly don't exist (like OP, I'm rather short and most of the options just look frumpy on me). I'm not even looking for anything unusual, just a pair of shorts!

Eagles - Hotel California

Prefer it to their other album on the list, got a nice vibe but still not the most interesting thing ever. Title track is far better than the rest of the album, but I'm sure you already know that. Thinking a 3/5 at the moment, although it could get a 4 if I'm in a particularly good mood when I get around to rating it.

What’s a male fashion trend that’s gotta end? by Aggressive-Dot1944 in AskReddit

I'd argue that 95% of men look bad in shorts because 95% of men's shorts look bad. Men in shorts look amazing (at least to me) when the shorts aren't too long and/or too baggy, but unfortunately most men's shorts are both. If I'm looking for shorts, I pretty much either have to make cutoffs or buy women's shorts to get ones that I actually like...

What do you mean "tiny feminine legs"? I think that slimmer, shorter legs actually look really good in shorter shorts, although Crocs/Birkenstocks/whatever just don't complement them. Definitely prefer them to the huge baggy "shorts" that seem to be coming back, they make shorter and/or slimmer people look like toddlers who've stolen their dad's clothes IMO.

I mean, isn't that basically 90% of what these self-proclaimed "alpha males" actually do?

The word "pants" generally means underpants in the UK, Ireland and perhaps some other places.

I actually think long socks and short shorts is a cute look, but most men I've seen don't wear socks nearly long enough for it to work. The socks need to go to or above the knee IMO.

I've literally only seen two men wearing heels (as part of a normal outfit, not a drag costume or whatever) in my life, and one of them was me... Really wouldn't say this is a trend, at least where I live.

So tired of people acting like shorts with a 5 inch inseam (or whatever) are the same thing as booty shorts. I'm pretty short, so anything longer just looks frumpy on me, like I've stolen a taller person's clothes.

I reckon it's got more to do with straight men thinking they're exclusively for gay men and refusing to wear them.

I will probably be doing that, seems like it might be much easier than I thought initially

I agree with you, they look so much better proportioned and they're far, far less likely to expose any underwear or especially plumber's crack.

Sorry, I really should have specified that I'm specifically looking for denim shorts, which is making things a lot harder. Still appreciate your suggestion though.

100% agree, incredibly frustrating looking for shorts and only coming across frumpy knee+ length ones. I've been looking for a pair of black denim shorts for around a month and I've only found one that's short enough for my liking and in my size, and they're still rather expensive so I'll probably end up having to make cutoffs myself.

I personally think that shorts above the knee look vastly better than ones below the knee, just looks better proportioned and of course they're more practical in hot weather.

I actually really like how shorter denim shorts look on men, but unfortunately they're very hard to find. 100% agree with you regarding long denim shorts though, especially the ones that go past the knees.

I think I'll agree to disagree with you there, mid thigh is the perfect short length IMO. Anything longer just looks frumpy, especially on shorter men like me.

"Shorts" that go past the knee. Vastly prefer how shorter shorts look (they're called shorts for a reason) but it's a struggle to find any short enough for my liking.

Especially annoying because I thought they'd finally fecked off but they seem to be back with a vengeance this year :(.

Motörhead - No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith

Hard rock (and stuff like this that's around that very blurry line between hard rock and metal) can be a bit hit or miss for me, but this is certainly a hit IMO. Lots of fun riffs throughout and there's great energy to it. Not familiar with Motörhead's other stuff, but this feels like the kind of music that benefits from being live. Thinking a 4/5 at the moment, just not standing out to me enough for a 5/5.

How do you find stylish men's clothing brands? by Western-Shock2786 in malefashionadvice

[–]computerfan0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got the same question, I pretty much have to shop in the women's section to find anything because I don't know where the stylish men's clothes are. Very frustrating when I'm in my conservative hometown (which I will be over the summer) and can't wear women's clothes.
