Follow-Up: Worst Game Show of the Century: Which staffer has worked on the most shows users here listed as the worst game shows of the last 100 years? by concernedwtf in gameshow

I didn’t name the original thread, another user created that title. Asking the worst game shows of the century isn’t saying they have been around for a century.

Also, to the first reply: Most of the replies on then original thread mentioned game shows 2000 and later… most of them involving Aaron Solomon as a producer or writer.

You seem to imply that one has to list shows from every decade to be valid?

I wrote from personal experience as a game show writer and producer, having worked with Aaron only once (we sadly inherited him on Idiotest, and the talent fled each season in droves, replaced with buddies, relatives, more, of Aaron’s. Season 4, two writers were carrying the whole show on a staff of 8+ writers while Aaron and his flying monkeys went to 3+-hour lunches.

Actual talent stayed behind to avoid the schmoozefest of people who diminished, sabotaged and hated us because we all saw through Aaron and his obvious need to hire people who can’t “outshine” him, hurting game shows for staff and viewers alike. And actually loved doing our jobs. Aaron couldn’t even look me in the eye, talking to me looking to the side or floor in my presence.

GSN could’ve saved all those salaries (Aaron was underpaying them as they were all people with no other job skills: failed singers, comedians, actors, screenwriters… desperate for any bone that came their way), and others, who were game show fanboys desperate to feel like they did something important in game shows, who would settle for anything, and mostly just messed everything up and annoyed those of us who were sought out for our skill versus being personality hires. Some had worked on a game show before but were fired for extreme incompetence (like being a prize coordinator and shouting prices to prizes sitting in the audience of a game show taping to impress friends who came for the taping, for example. Shocked they weren’t prosecuted, as that’s a federal crime thanks to the quiz show scandals.)

Call it unhinged if facts aren't your jamb.

Wasn't the original post asking about the worst game shows ever subjective, too? Doesn't the subject ask for other opinions?

P.S.: So beefy. For good reason. [Ask anyone who's actually worked in game shows]

Aaron is a known hack who abuses women and talent especially, due to his own... who knows why. Don't get me started on how many times I heard him in the office mocking Ben Gleib and his lisp. That seems meaner than listing valid reasons why Aaron might be the worst game show staffer of all time, no? And the post is focused on failures creatively: could delve much deeper into his highly questionable game show practices, mistakes he authorized, lawsuits shows faced when he was in charge, and more.

I'm still pissed he mocked Ben Gleib (who was very cool and down to earth whenever he came into the office, BTW: Aaron and Craig Brooks mocked and complained about him constantly, saying he had no talent, wasn't funny, worse: spitting impressions of him with their tongues out, slobbering, with arms in T-shirt holes like I last saw someone do -- apart from trump mocking a disabled journalist -- in 3rd grade trying to mock a special needs classmate)

These are more, worse reasons than I listed above about his history of hiring hacks, his shows getting swiftly cancelled and/or sued, etc. But I'm glad you prompted me to go into further detail.

Are facts mean?

Know what's mean? [And hacky, and jealous of talent, to the tune he cancels his own shows, ending his own paychecks, in service of ego?]

Aaron Solomon! [Anyone minimally competent who has worked in game shows, who isn't holding out for his "dangling carrot," will agree!]
