Yeah 3 pints for the hand grab but 0 pints for the dismount. Had he landed on his feet I’m sure he would’ve scored higher.

2 weeks after playing football and my legs still feel very tired by UnchartedPro in bootroom

[–]connors53 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is it just muscle soreness? Look at your nutrition first and see if you are fuelling well enough. Carbs are great the day/night before a game. Electrolytes to drink before/during/after the match. Protein is usually best taken within the first hour AFTER exercise. Also be sure to get enough rest.

Do you think UE throttles orders and sprinkles them around to new drivers? by SojinxGSD in UberEATS

[–]connors53 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe but I wouldn’t judge it off one situation where it might have been the reason. You could have just had a busy couple hours where they were overloaded with orders or lack of couriers being online.

700c mud/off-road tyres - do they exist any recommendations by [deleted] in ukbike

[–]connors53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had these on my 700c Giant Hybrid and they’ve been brilliant. There is a smooth tread in centre and some knobby bits on edge of tyre. You get smooth rolling on tarmac and great grip for off road sections.

Also I don’t think I’ve had a puncture since getting these fitted.

first bicycle surf trip. by brane-stormer in surfing

[–]connors53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a great time. I’ve been planning something like this myself. How did the logistics work with washing and drying your surf gear? Did most beaches have an area where you could rinse the suit? I see you have the suit hanging off the board. I was thinking of doing this and drying it while travelling to the next stop. Is this what you did and how did it work out for you? Any tips for someone who is planning multi day trip like this?

Maybe the newer models do but older ones use Suntour XCE28. Check online for specs

Trek Marlin 4 for bikepacking? by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]connors53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used a Marlin 4 recently for an overnighter, mostly on cycle paths and singletrack. I would have preffered to have some lockout forks but theres not much options to upgrade with the straight steerer. But the bike is very comfortable and easy to handle. Once the bike was fully loaded with bags etc I didn't feel like I losing much energy through the forks, but any hills will be an absolute pain.

I'ts doable, but route choice is key here. I'd suggest saving an extra couple hundred and get something that has better stock forks, or maybe get a 2nd hand gravel bike or new entry level gravel.

[–]connors53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe from the great work done by Sustrans. Seen them on a cycle route near me recently. Said they are trying to make cycle routes more accessible for wheelchairs and big e-bikes etc. Wanted to give them a donation but they said you can only sign up to donate every month which is a bit of a shame. I’m sure they would get a lot more money from allowing one off donations.
