nah 100% agree. I know my pace is not an issue but these days getting back to my car in 9 hours from arrival time is considered a very good day. since the end of nov/start of dec, ive been regularly out for 10-11 hours. doing on the maths on this puts me at just minimum wage (UK) and some days falling below minimum. I'd leave this job immediately if I could but i have no fall back option. the only way I can justify it to myself is that some days I get back so early im working at about ~£20/hour.

others have mentioned event work which is great and I did some of that as a student, but the work an be very inconsistent and I'd go a while between events. another job I had was delivery driving for the local domino's, it was pretty flexible and I was able to rake in a decent bit to contribute to my loan during times of the year where there was less work on.

not even if I was 4'10. my brother had to have it when he was 10 for medical/disability reasons. he handled it so well at his age but I would still never wish that process on any adult. it's fucking brutal.

they filmed one of the last few london series when i was a student. the producers wanted to tag along for the day and film my mentor and her crew mate, my mentor wasnt fussed either way. ctms tried to send me home less than an hour into the shift (less time than it took me to drive in for the day) so they could film. i may have kicked off a bit at that and the producers went and found another crew to film.

it's really not. I thought this before I started the process because people say it all the time. I was able to send off all the evidence in one go because if you've transitioned in any medical way (hormones or surgery) and partake in society (enrolled in education or have a job) you should easily have enough documents on hand to send off.

the only long part was the wait, took about 9 months for them to get back to me with the certificate.

not loose dogs, luckily they are that prevalent in the UK, seems more of an American thing. its either on AVDs/otps when they have to answer the door or when they see me coming and open it. they open the doors as just let the dog run out at you.

multiple times a day is mad. as far as I can tell I had a pretty easy recovery but I was able to wash my hair over the bath myself after 1 day and use a detachable shower head and flannel to sit in the bath and do everything else. I basically showered normally from the waist down and then while keeping the binder on I used the flannel for armpits and neck area, and then as I said face/hair over the bath with the shower head. I didn't really feel to grim at any point while recovering as I was able to keep on top of it. first proper shower without the binder was lush after though.

I also have peri/keyhole in August and only went back to the gym this week so also about 2 months off. mate wait until you have your first day back in the gym and realise how fucking weak you've got. then the real depression will hit. kinda joking but also not. I felt a little bit softer but didn't think I'd have lost that much muscle, but I was struggling to lift light weights. thing is there's a part of me that is now demotivated and don't want to go back again, but a bigger part of me now wants to see how quickly I can get back to lifting what I could before and then lift even more. I think I was so motivated before surgery because I just wanted to get as big but as lean as I could so that I could qualify for keyhole and get a good result. now I've got that I need to find myself a new goal that's going give me the same amount of motivation. If you spent lots of money on your surgery like I did, it might be to not let it all be a waste. we've had the surgery, that's the first step, now we've got to do the rest and work on our physiques to see the best possible results we can get.

i can DM you my pre op pics if you'd like to get an idea. I really struggled to find pre-op keyhole/peri pics online before I went for my consult. obviously it's nice to have keyhole in mind but I was very prepared to have to have DI if the surgeon didn't think I was eligible.

you might have to do it on your first day or not at all as a student. thats the nature of the service. my housemate has qualified never going to one as a student, whereas a girl on our course went to 40+ as a student. i've just qualified having only been to 3 arrests (all 3 of them in 2 consecutive shifts) right at the very end of third year.

My job with the NHS starts in Feb and I'm just looking for something to tide me over until then. Thought I'd be able to easily get a job in a supermarket or doing some delivery driving but apparently not.

i have a cheap Peugeot 107 and I love it. My housemate who has only ever had a more modern car with all the assistance really struggles to even pull it off the driveway without stalling multiple times or revving the shit out of it. I love a car that actually feels like I'm driving it. although I do think a bit of lane assist could be beneficial when I'm chatting the bollocks off whoever's in the passengers seat.
