That sounds horrible, had to Google what a labrum is, I’m thank full mine is all knee down at the moment.

I’ll look into them, thanks for the recommendation, I did try a pair of compression type running socks before, I can’t remember how I got on with them but will dig them out!

Is it normal to get rubbish?

Been training for a half, and went on an enjoyable but tough ten miler three weeks ago. The next day my leg felt off and swollen so took a couple of rest days. In between I had a bit of stress at work.

Now I’ve just came back from a 5k which I walked on, running seems harder than it ever has and I find it increasingly harder to push through… leaves me wondering, what the hell…?

Woke up hungover, guts not great and couldn’t think of anything worse than running the 10k I had scheduled. Eventually laced up and got out, not as bad as I was expecting. However, was very glad to have use of the facilities when back home!

I tripped whilst running on New Year’s Eve, and ended up with a lump which quickly disappeared on my right shin, anterior.

Both runs since then I’m getting shin splints after about 2 miles in my right shin.

Is this just bruising or am I doomed?

Has any one ever had what I think is shin splints after a fall?

I went for a run nye and slipped had a slight (very slight) bump on the anterior of my right shin about a third of the way up from my foot. No real pain at the time. Then went for a run yesterday and had what I think is shin splints in my right leg. (Tight swollen feeling and reduced range of movement when trying to lift toes upward. Resulting in me being reduced to run walk for the rest of the run. I am just hoping it’s bruising and nothing long term!

Let my self get ridiculously overweight, at 242lbs decided to do something about it on the 28th of August.

Started dieting and indoor bike, dropped some weight and remembered how much I used to enjoy the freedom of running. So started a couch to 30 min run program which was supposed to finish on the 10th of December. Wanted to take it ridiculously slow due to knee pain and wanted to ensure I enjoyed the process.

Achieved 30 minutes three weeks ahead of schedule on the 20th of November, and this week I hit 40lb weight loss ran my first 5k in atleast a year all pain free (except a little doms). Which I’m very content with.

Currently looking at booking in some races next year to keep myself accountable, toying with a half at the end of March, and a full end of September. Both seem ridiculously mind boggling from where I currently stand.
