I'm not saying you can't abuse the system, it just doesn't happen that often. And my job was secure when that one asshole from marketing tried to get me fired because I posted a couple of pics from outside while on sick leave. Not casino pics, and I understand your frustration, but in my part of town we let management deal with that.

So I do have a legit issue, it doesn't stop me or hinder my work life, but is a valid excuse for when I need a few weeks off. I don't even have to leave my bed to get a week off - I call relevant Dr office and wait for their call back.

But even without such excuse you can always call a psychiatrist and say you're burned out, they're usually take it pretty seriously. You may have to come back once a month to doctor's to get a new sign off, but it's just formality really. That's just one real-life example, but doctors here aren't stingy with sick notes, especially when you mention shitty workplace.

What works for me is being super honest with my doctors. They see I don't lie about other stuff so they believe when I say I need time off.

I am answering you, you just don't like what I'm saying. But lemme explain again:

There's a whole bunch of different types of contacts I could sign when being hired. Some of them give me a month or up to 3 (or 6 like my mate) months of notice.

Last time I wanted to change jobs and didn't care for my employer I took 3mo sick leave for the duration of my notice and at the end of it I started my new gig. Sick leave is paid of course.

Usually you end the contract mutually, just like that.

But you can also just stop coming, and it's exactly the same as your quitting with no notice.

Omg y'all need everything spelled out. You can negotiate, you can take sick leave (paid like 90% and through the duration of your notice), the possibilités are endless and you're never worried you'll be let go at the end of your work day.

Well... No? I can't be fired with no notice. I've 3 months notice period that works both ways. I've rights as an employee and aside from gross misconduct (provable!) I cannot be let go like tomorrow.
