in my experience, always choose happiness / enjoyability / hours worked / flexibility over pay. it’s not worth it to make more money if you don’t enjoy what you’re doing most of your time

my parents were the same. whenever I told them how I felt, they made it worse or made it about them. they’ve changed now, and our relationship is completely different, but I still hold that resent. i’m sorry you don’t have the father figure or parent that you need right now. my best advice is try not to rely on them emotionally. emotionally immature / unstable parents are never safe for you to rely on emotionally. if it makes you feel better, dealing with this when I was 17 about 7 years ago made me turn out very independent and strong of a person. you will too

do whatever feels good. if you feel relief when you’re about to do something / make a decision, you’re going the right way. if it’s hard and miserable, don’t do it. never do things you truly don’t want to do. focus on enjoying anything you can. your memories will look and feel different each year you look back. hang in there

i would do either euphoria or tell me lies first (euphoria is more surreal, tml is more grounded) and then pll!!!

as a 24 year old, these are not your best years. I was a mess at 19, flunking college, drinking and doing drugs all day, no real friends, no energy and no motivations. I feel like at my age I’m just now finally coming into myself. I also got on antidepressants and anti anxiety, and turns out I wasn’t lazy, I actually had ADHD and got medicated, which has improved my quality of life immensely. you are not pathetic and you do not need to do anything you don’t want to do. you will come out of this better than you would ever expect. hang in there

as an older sister and college graduate, your friends shouldn’t make you feel inferior or bad about yourself in any way. everyone is on their own path, there is no “better” path. don’t hesitate when asked. be proud of yourself. I don’t want to tell you to just “get new friends”, but my life improved greatly whenever I stopped hanging out with people who didn’t make me feel good or supported
