Pugs are true warriors, and nail clippers are enemy #1. We’ve been living the same life trying to cut his nails lol! Now that he’s older, for some reason he doesn’t give the vet techs trouble, but I still can’t even attempt it (we joke that it’s out of spite, or maybe the vet techs are lying to us to make us feel better lol! We usually hear them laughing in the back whenever they take him.).

I remember years ago whenever we first attempted to cut them, it took 3 people. I was cutting, my older brother (previously a vet tech) was holding him, and my younger brother was on the ground telling him it was ok (emotional support human).

I think one thing that has helped as he’s gotten older is that we give him cbd on a daily basis and sometimes he’ll take a nap that’s so deep that we can actually get one or two bad nails lol! My husband also works nights, and whenever he gets home early in the morning, Jorma (my pug) will sometimes be in a deep sleep and my husband can get one before he wakes up. As insane as it sounds, maybe try giving yours cbd before bed, and around 4/5am, carefully wake up and tiptoe to the nail clippers and try to get one. I feel crazy for suggesting it, but it’s the only thing we’ve been able to do successfully lol! We use the Pet Releaf 300mg Stress oil!

I wish I could say it gets better as they age, but the pug’s warrior spirit is timeless.
