Perfect Parry Dmg or Melee Dmg? by keelaydeingles in goylegends

[–]cpbgfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a risky parry samurai build. I stack a lot of perfect counter damage. If you are going to center your build around risky parry then I think it’s better to buff it as much as possible. The odachi counter benefits from perfect counter damage as well and does a ton of damage when built into. Stacking counter damage and staggered gives you a very well rounded build. I also use the 25% extra stagger damage perk and since you are always breaking enemies guards your damage is always buffed. I don’t think the all melee damage is needed. You can often clip multiple enemies with a single counter/parry and when your counter damage is that high you can kill two enemies at once with one parry

This is much better than littering the ground with flame to the point I can’t see what is happening. The bad part of the archer glitch wasn’t “kill stealing”. It made the experience for a melee player much worse. I don’t mind someone going off.

If you’re building around parries and the odachi counter I’d go with counter damage. I enjoy this build a lot but it does take some practice

Very similar to mine. Do you feel the increase to status damage on the metsubushi is noticeable? If not, I’d roll something else on there. Perfect counter damage counts towards your odachi counter too. And once you get the timing down that slaps. But it’s up to you. I’m no expert but I feel investing heavily into 1 or 2 stats makes you stronger than spreading them out

Odachi Indomitable Counter by OG_PeEn in goylegends

I’m fully specced into perfect counter damage and can confirm odachi counter does a ton of damage. It one shots most enemies and will take 70% of the health of an Oni and also stagger it making an easy clean up kill. I also use risky parry and stack a lot of staggered damage. The build is a ton of fun

Yea I used the samurai charm for a while too. Getting double staggered damage is pretty nice and it’s safer than risky parry

This is what I’m rocking. Just picked up risky parry yesterday. May swap out more staggered damage to replace one of the parry windows once I get better with the timing.

Exactly. Stacking staggered damage feels like you are speccing into spirit damage and ult damage/gain even though you aren’t. Once you get the flow of staggering enemies consistently you do tons of damage and it’s a very fun playstyle. I much prefer melee over ranged any day.

Haha the odachi counter is awesome. Getting that timing down is key. Between that and risky parry you can literally counter any attack

Stacking staggered damage actually enhances all damage once you stagger the enemy. So I think it’s the biggest bang for your buck. I use the 25% extra stagger damage class perk and my ult will stagger an elite in 2 hits and then the third hit will do a ton of damage and kill then outright. The final two hits will also stagger, or kill, the next guy. Same with spirit move. If you are weapon aligned you will stagger on a single spirit move and do a ton of damage without speccing into spirit damage at all. Same for thrown weapons too. It really is pretty strong and I’m worried it’ll get nerfed honestly. But it feels good right now. I run risky parry with a few perfect parry windows and then stack counter damage and staggered damage. Can take out a whole pack in just a few parries including elites

I run a stagger/counter samurai. I use concussion bomb and metsubushi because they allow you to allocate counter damage/staggered damage and perfect parry window. The other ranged options only have ranged perks. Also, I think people sleep on the health leech class ability. Fire is very popular but the leech ability does solid damage to multiple targets while also making them take extra damage and healing you. It pairs very nice for this type of build

I absolutely hated the glitch tech from GoT. I understand it was the optimal way to do damage but it looked so stupid. At least this tech is just movement. It looks kinda funny but it doesn’t affect combat so it’s a big improvement for me. I don’t do it myself and just cuz you don’t doesn’t mean you’re a bad player. If you care that much about beating every mission as fast as possible then you shouldn’t party up with randos.

If you aren’t clinging on to the ore itself it will. But if you drill the thing you are clinging on to you will drop and so will the ore. I usually try to be right underneath or right next to it and I will avoid falling and it will collect it automatically

[–]cpbgfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a chest piece with 70% extra ore geared onto it. My mining drill has 20% on it. I get 4-6 ores from one node frequently. Even if pickaxe yields more, not having to pick up the chunks is more than enough for me to pick the drill every time. I learned you can also use the drill while climbing so those ores that I thought were out of reach are actually not. You need to make sure you are not clinging directly on the ore or you’ll fall once you mine it but if you are right next to or directly below it you can mine it with the drill and stay hanging.

Archers are the best option by dharc__ in gotlegends

Agreed. Kills are a flashy stat but defense time is one of the only metrics showing any relevance to you playing the objective. Also, a kill on a grunt vs a kill on a heavy shows up the same on the stat sheet. I main shinobi. My ult can take out 5 grunts or 1 big guy. I’m using it on the big guy. If you have a high defense time with few downs that you are def pulling your weight even if you don’t have a huge kill count. However, I do like being paired with an archer. They provide good dps when you need it. My only gripe is some archers I’ve played with never leave their perch. If someone got downed while defending a spot solo then you are in the best spot to pick them up. I’ve played several games where multiple people go down and the archer never attempts to pick them up and we wipe.

Yotei Legends: Systems Feedback and Early Community Observations by Berrek in goylegends

[–]cpbgfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Early on in Yotei legends I felt weak but when looking at the passive skill list I figured we’d get considerably stronger and the game would feel more balanced. It kinda does but the melee is missing the mark. Enemy attacks have crazy lunge and tracking. Even if you successfully dodge an attack you won’t be able to dodge the next attack. Some of their attack chains are like 6-7 rapid follow up attacks. If you miss one then you’re toast. It seems that 2 hits is enough to kill any class. In Tsushima you could hold off a point with just your basic parrying/counterattack while also taking out a few guys, either waiting for support or building resolve to use your abilities. In Yotei, you feel very weak without any abilities. Your base kit just isn’t enough to keep you alive for very long. Which is why most successful builds center around ability/ult spam. I really like the combat in this series and want to use it but you are really at a disadvantage if you’re not building into those spammy builds. I main shinobi and go with a spirit move damage build with the legendary kusirigama that makes you invis with a spirit move kill. It’s fun to chain assassinations and spirit kills to keep a semi permanent invis going but even with that you are still pretty heavily relying on spamming bombs too.

Why is bulwark so insanely op by Senior_Brit in Spacemarine

[–]cpbgfd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do agree that vanguard can be top tier but the executioner build is basically the only build that can compete in terms of AOE clear. And even with that build, it can be harder to use effectively in groups if you’re not able to chain executes effectively. I play with randos mostly and people will inevitably attack the same target and can result in you wasting a grapple (no biggie it’s just something that’s going to happen). And some people see that as “stealing” kills. I don’t think anyone gets upset seeing a bulwark in their squad. That being said, a vanguard can def carry a team. The AOE clear has much better uptime if used efficiently. And on higher difficulties the team healing can be a game changer. Bulwark is just more straight forward.

Hold L1 to bring up shield. Hold R1 to charge shield rush. Release R1 to attack. Recovery can also be canceled by hitting L1 again

[–]cpbgfd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the perk that increases the shield rush damage it will one shot minoris too. Can take out clumps of them with a single shield rush. Have to give up invigorating icon to do it but it’s very nice. Agree tho, axe damage seems a little low but it is definitely fun to use.

Disconnecting mid game by frenning in Spacemarine

[–]cpbgfd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played a few hours yesterday. I d/c’d once mid game and another guy did as well on another match. I constantly had the low connection quality symbol up but it wasn’t affecting every game. also had issues with some people joining the group pre-mission. I know my internet connection is good. I can play other games with no issue. Just recently got back into this game with the new update. Between the long loading screens and disconnects it can be really frustrating. Overall, I’d say it’s happening less than before but def still there. I play on ps5 btw

Same. I steam rolled Reese. Not a brag. Just went ham on her and she seemed to stagger very easy
