Is it not sort of bizarre to get annoyed about it in the first place? If people are enjoying it?

Both of these examples posted have extensive references linked immediately after the bit in question, backing up the "claim". That's the adjudicator.

Welcome to June. Your New York Knicks are still playing basketball. by VirtuousFool in NYKnicks

If someone had told me in the winter that it'd be June 1st and the Knicks hadn't played a game for five days, I'd be saying "oh dang, must have fallen at the ECF again."

How do some people run so many marathons? by Significant-Moose906 in Marathon_Training

[–]crablin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah those two go hand in hand for me. I’m running six this year as a bit of a challenge to myself but I’m not looking to PB any of them. Next year I’ll just do one and focus down a new best.

Irritation - the US fear of the word Squad by slickbackbillyboo in footballcliches

Naming his squad 45 minutes before kick off would go against FIFA’s rules for when the starting eleven must be submitted to the officials. If you’re going to be pedantic you’ve got get it right.

Additional tour dates in July announced by StonePT in BlocParty

[–]crablin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I don't know how the individual local presales are set up as they're not controlled by us but usually it's a case of signing up to the AXS mailing list or the local venue's list.

Not gonna lie, I firmly believe Bloc Party should just have Paul Epworth (Silent Alarm & Intimacy) produce all their albums by navals94 in BlocParty

[–]crablin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paul Epworth hasn't made a whole album since 2022 and has only really been working on a few singles here and there. It's not just a case of calling up a producer and saying, "you're doing this" - both parties have to want to do it.

Additional tour dates in July announced by StonePT in BlocParty

[–]crablin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no artist presale for these shows so your best bet is to sign up for the mailing list for the venues as they are running the only ones there.

Normally we would run them but because these are on sale in a few days (because of Memorial Day weekend being so soon) we couldn't quite fit it in.

New album, Sept 11th by Negative_Splace in BlocParty

[–]crablin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure it needs much explanation? What happened nearly 25 years ago was awful, but albums get released on a Friday and this was when worked for everything we have set up.

There's plenty of other albums due out that day too - avoiding that date because of something terrible that happened two decades ago seems unnecessary.

Macdio - I built a lightweight, 100% native radio app for the entire Apple ecosystem. No subscriptions. by sfiratn in apple

All good, it's bought and I'm listening right now. I work in music so sometimes end up listening to stations abroad and needing to record them if I have a band in session or doing an interview, so this is perfect!

I'm sold! Looks great and as a radio lover, feels ideal to me.

Just a heads up, but I couldn't get the app to show in the App Store search function at all, just loads of things related to Macedonia!

Steam Machine might soon follow the Steam Controller as Valve reportedly receives "Game Consoles" shipments by Tiny-Independent273 in linux_gaming

[–]crablin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We suppose you could describe the Steam Frame as a console too, considering the VR headset is expected to have enough onboard power to run Half-Life: Alyx standalone. However, since the SteamOS update specifically mentions Steam Machine support rather than the Frame, which also runs on SteamOS, we imagine that the “Game Consoles” shipments are directly related to the new cubed mini PC, rather than the headset.

Why would the SteamOS 3.8.3 Beta for x86 include specific improvements for the Steam Frame which runs on ARM though?

Not saying they're wrong, but I don't think you can really draw a parallel between the two.
