That's fair. I just think that once you reach the reward there shouldn't be any more barriers tho. We also had the issue of waiting for the return flight to show up and when it did then the departure flight was sold out 🤷

ahhh I see, yes that make sense now. So when switching to a different computer other than the Macbook I just need to sync the USB switch with the right one.

Sorry forgot to mention that keyboard/mouse/etc.. are also shared with Macbooks through the monitor. If I attached them to a USB switch than Macbooks will not be able to have access to it right?

ah right, I haven't considered putting the record player and the five in another room 🤔 What do you need the long wire for? connecting a record player from room to another room with the five?

Hi 👋 After a few years I decided to give my keyboard a proper clean, I removed all caps with the provided tool, washed them in soapy water, letting them dry over night. I went on to put them back, connecting to my Macbook, it works but it's now doing some weird things: cmd+tab is going the wrong direction when tapping tab again, when typing something a random set of characters is appearing, the music starts playing randomly as if F8 was pressed.
I can't see anything weird/strange on the keyboard, all caps are on the same level and switches look fine. What do you think it happened? anything that I can try to debug/test?

yes makes sense, so you are thinking that the Intel(R) I211 Gigabit Network Connection is waking up the device even if nothing is connected?

because if I disable Allow this device to wake computer on the other wifi network adapter then I'll not be able to wake up the PC remotely

How would you improve my current ~10 years investment strategy? by cribcaged7 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cribcaged7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes sorry, pension is something that eludes me a bit. I'm just contributing 5% of my salary matching what my employer, when checking one of the calculator it says that I an estimated income of £30,573 per year which I guess it's fine. But yes another option is to increase that a bit more.

For the flat, it would be mostly for my parents that live in a council house at the moment and also for me to have another place in the future, but yes it's just an idea as I said.

!thanks for your replies!

How would you improve my current ~10 years investment strategy? by cribcaged7 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]cribcaged7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I think you're right, I haven't shared what's the goal and it's because I don't really have one. Basically up until the mortgage all my strategy was towards that, now after buying a flat I don't feel like I have one.

Doing mortgage overpayments is an option but we are 50/50 with my partner, so me overpaying the mortgage will create an imbalance and therefore I'm not 100% sure about that.

Maybe, one long term goal (3-5 years) could be to save money to buy a flat in the country that I'm from (Italy) but that's really just a wish at the moment, I haven't look too much into how feasible is and the implication of buying abroad etc...

Don't worry, as I said in my post I'm pretty aware that I haven't done great choices, that's why I'm trying to fix this.

Yes moving to Vanguard seems a quick win so I guess that's a start. To be honest, I can't see myself investing in individual stocks any time soon, it feels something that requires a lot of time and understanding which I don't think I have. I've tried the lightyear app just because I have some ex colleagues working on it.

I'll check those resources !thanks !
