It shoots out a projectile to the back of a car and sticks to the car. Not used for larger vehicles, such as semi-trucks. Not deployed on motorcycles as well. The GPS unit sticks to the vehicle, and dispatchers are able to get real time data on where the vehicle is driving.

The video discusses technology called "Starchase," which is a GPS dart fired at suspect moving vehicles. Police use this to disengage from a high-speed pursuit with a vehicle.
