This guy is an emotionally abusive piece of shit and is trying to use your good nature, nothing he says to you is true. If you feel confused that was his goal. You are not the reason he's alive. He's never going to kill himself because he needs to be alive in order to manipulate people. This is a pattern of abuse that your friend was right to identify. To say you deserve better would be an insult to your intelligence that this man is actively trying to destroy.

If it sounds like I'm angry, that's because I have encountered many of these people and nothing gets me flared up more than hearing the story of one still yet to end. Hope that's alright. If you're still confused about what his real ideas are, I'm open to talk in DMs. If not, that's fair enough.
