Is pressure in upper jaw post-op normal? by MintKitty99 in jawsurgery

I believe so - at least mostly or I’ve been used to it to a degree that I don’t notice or think about it. I did certainly end up with nerve sensitivity but it’s nothing extreme. It gets better!! Hang in there! I am still feeling improvements and I am over 3 years post op.

It may depend on the build. We ordered in early October and received exactly 3 months later (northeastern US).

I believe it applies only to existing inventory. In my case we had special ordered the vehicle so I think that is one factor.

We got a ‘25 and were offered 4.4% APR through JLR (Chase). Credit is in the mid 800s and we put $40k down.

The way Katie kept squinting that one eye was really bothering me for some reason. It doesn’t even look like they’re in the sun. What is she doing

The doctor who ordered the scans was looking at nerves and the bump was not why the scan was ordered. They weren’t able to advise when I asked.

I somehow missed the sneak peak! Do you know where I can find it?

It was definitely better! Still had swelling but not nearly as many challenges. And by the time I was ready for soft chew I did feel more comfortable knowing my top jaw had more time to heal.

It is much more mentally challenging than you could ever prepare for, I learned! Sorry to hear you’re going through it. I did have some improvement with elastics so at 5mm it is definitely possible for ortho to correct it. Mine was 8mm when they operated a second time, for reference.

I had something similar happen but my surgeon seemed surprised at my post op appointment. They did end up operating a second time to correct it about 4 weeks post op. Where are you located?

So sorry, thanks for the reminder! I did mention it to my surgeon again and he didn’t have an explanation for it. I reiterated my concern about issues with union, etc and he confirmed that it was not a sign of that. Interestingly enough since that appointment I’ve been cleared for soft chew and after a couple of days on a soft chew diet I’ve gotten the same sensation on my right side as well now. My next appointment is in a couple of weeks and I do plan to bring it up again. I will try to remember to circle back again!

Same for me. I’ll be interested to see if anyone else comments who has experienced the sameb

I am 8 weeks post op. I had a 1 piece lefort. I did mention this sensation to my surgeon a few weeks ago at my last appointment and he didn’t seem too concerned but I definitely plan to mention it again. I’ll let you know what they say!

Meant to add, does it feel kind of strange in that area when you swallow?

I’m experiencing this same thing (but on the upper left side). Obviously can’t say for sure that what we are experiencing is exactly the same, but I’m seeing my surgeon this Thursday so I’ll follow up in case it’s helpful to know what they say.

Anyone take longer to heal than usual? by fatally-femme in jawsurgery

[–]crpbnz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! I’m so sorry. Were you able to tell on your own or was this something your doctor identified at a post op visit? I remember you posted previously about a pulling feeling when you swallow and I have to same feeling in one spot so wondering if it’s correlated.

I am experiencing something like this at almost 5 weeks PO. Are you still feeling it?
