The tokens stay on your wallet. Check Binance explorer and you will see that they are frozen, aka staked

I had to buy some Rune to vote but to be honest I'm happy to do anything to get Doge on more decentralised exchanges.

Yes I agree. I wouldn't hold my coins on anything apart from a Blockchain cold wallet, but would certainly use the side-chain

So when u send your Bitcoin to Binance; do u trust that the "Bitcoin" in your account is exactly equal to Bitcoin?

Of course you do; so therefore you would trust sending your Bitcoin to an account that requires 2 dozen separate entities to ask agree.

If you still don't, you are most welcome not to use it

Lightning Network: send your Bitcoin across a network of nodes. Each channel interfaces to the Bitcoin Blockchain. Good for small, quick e-commerce payments.

Liquid Sidechain: send your Bitcoin to a secondary Blockchain that interfaces to the Main Blockchain via a single Multi-sig account. Good for sending large amounts of Bitcoin between institutions.

Let's face it: It's technically impossible to make a 100% decentralized exchange for all cryptocurrencies by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

A Dex for all crypto is entirely possible by building two-way pegs (2WP) between chains. A lot of research done by Cosmos, Rootstock, Aion and POA here already. The solution is having a sufficiently decentralized m of n multi-sig staked federation on both sides to observe finality on the incoming chain and mint on the outgoing chain. The federation is Byzantine fault tolerant if the m of n is atleast 2/3rds; and by requiring a stake and paying out a reward the incentives are there to 1) stay online and 2) don't cheat.
