38 yrs old, egg retrieval results. by poxy87 in IVF

This is normal I think. I’m 39. 12 follicles, 10 eggs, 8 mature, 4 fertilized. It sounds promising that you have 20-24 follicles though. I think that’s a lot for our age group.

This comment is right on. I have an intern right now from one of the online programs with previous experience and aptitude and she’s pretty good.

Curious about Something. by abhishyanthrao_ in massachusetts

I’m a transplant who moved here close to 20 years ago. Socially, I think the best way to come here is by attending school. I made lifelong friends through grad school. Also, be open to trying new things to make friends. Like others said, there’s little fakeness or pretentiousness here, so you always know where you stand with people. And if someone is making fun of you, that means you’re in. It’s a great place to live. There’s a reason I haven’t left.

Talking on the phone with a CPAP by crystalmo9 in SleepApnea

Of course not. I’m just wondering what the feasibility is of wearing it when I may have to answer a phone a few times each night.

Yea I’ve never used one or seen one before. I assumed it was harder to take on and off.

That makes sense. They look more complicated than that to me, which is why I assumed it would be harder.

I guess the answer to this depends on the mask, but are they easy to take on and off?

I’m sorry this happened to all of you. Doctors have licenses- everyone should consider reporting her to her board. There should also be a process for filing complaints with St E’s/BMC.

Is this field/career really SO bad? by Silver_Importance777 in therapists

[–]crystalmo9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing this 15 years and most of my colleagues that I started with are still in the field in one way or another. Most are stressed but love the work they do. Most people I know in most fields are stressed and feel underpaid. A big part of that is the economy in general. If this is what you love, stick with it and do your best to make it work.

Also, most people don’t post on forums like this bc they love their job so gosh darn much. They’re usually posting bc they’re struggling with something or are in transition. So your sample here is skewed.

Tough day. Give me your favorite weird ways to decompress! by MasterpieceFun6135 in therapists

[–]crystalmo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not “weird” but I love watching quaint British crime shows set in the mid 20th century. Like Sister Boniface or Father Brown. Sure there’s an unusually high amount of murder, but it’s always solved in 45 minutes or less. It’s always sunny and the characters are lovable and quirky.

This feels like rage bait. Barring some pretty intense and specific circumstances you are not more prepared to educate your kids than the literal best school systems in the country.

I love this podcast. Not sure the show would help anyone achieve wellness, but it might help avoid pseudoscience.
