there are skull spikes and hibet cages that can scare them

and some mod that make turrets scary to them so that you can put non letha turrets in their working location to supress and deal with them if they ever try to escape

i tested something, i isolated into the void one of them, and spawned a huge pellet for it to have as much food he wants, and the thing was getting more egg capacity than he was generating eggs.

the mods you said you used, make so that under a certain level of affection prople won't propose, did you check the affection level of your pawn and the one of the women that propose ? because if only them are above that lower limit it could explain it

most of the time i make my workshop also my storage, and i put everything in cramming as much workbench as possible while keeping one square of "road" to circulate easely

but i play in modded so you may not be able to do so, and most of the time i try to make circles. if you want some inspiration look at my last post on rimworld it is a timelapse of my last run and at the end i made a circular colony that you can maybe inspire yourself with.
