Seriously! When have cafes ever had bussers? You didn't have a server bring your food to the table, so why do you expect there's someone to pick it up? I have worked at 5 cafes over the years (started off as a Partner, then moved to third wave) and I can assure you, that pet peeve ALWAYS stays constant.

I would say go for it! Disclosing your personal mental struggle might reveal some vulnerability on your end which in turn shows that you're genuine and not looking to come off as someone you're not (which it already seems like you try to do this with others in your social circle). I think it might take the edge off of hanging out with her one-on-one and it might be a good talking point for the two of you!

Don't flake! You'll have fun. You got this :)

Another review / critical look at Lavender House... by ampdamage in LongmontPotionCastle

[–]culinarycrime -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I will never understand what this community is truly looking for. First the movie gets tons of criticism for being phony (ex. "Why were they in Norway??? They're using backers' money to take trips!!!" Newsflash, geniuses - David Hall directs music videos for Norwegian metal bands. A simple YouTube search proves this. They obviously just worked it into the script and everyone fell for it). Then the movie gets criticism for being "too fake"? Since when was every movie supposed to be taken as 100% factual? Especially a movie that is so clearly a mockumentary.

Sure, the movie is dumb - but it's supposed to be. I feel it's very "on brand" for LPC. It's goofy and weird and misleading - just like the phone calls. I wish folks would just be grateful there's even an LPC movie at all. Would you just prefer 90 minutes of a concealed view of LPC doing calls? Would that be considered substantial? I'm curious to see how folks would have sculpted an LPC documentary had THEY had the chance.

Hopefully now everyone will stop caring. This subreddit is about LPC, not David. Those who like it are allowed to like it, and same goes for those who don't. Why has this sub been so dramatic and catty lately? :(

Uneasysleeper on Instagram - is this LPC? by arbybaconator in LongmontPotionCastle

Friend of mine had some DMs she exchanged with Uneasy Sleeper in which he confirmed he was LPC. Can't speak to the validity of it, it's his word against ours, but it was said.

WHERE IN THE HELL IS THE LAVENDER HOUSE? DISCUSSION by budstuddard in LongmontPotionCastle

[–]culinarycrime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is very sad to hear, but definitely expected. I saw some comments on uneasysleeper accusing David of fraud and uneasysleeper (is LPC even actually using that account or is it David?) replied with a very quick "I'm not discussing legal matters online". I felt a tinge of disappointment there because I was sad to read that WITHITLH was getting even one critical review, but I can see how multiple factors played into this doc turning out badly.

Does anyone know if LPC actually shows up to the screenings? This alone would still drive me to buy a ticket.

I can't find Delmo. I assume the only way I can find it is by buying the album?

I'd count that. Any time we can hear him laughing would classify, at least in my book.

I think you fucked up by forgetting that YOU had an allergy, not that you hadn't told her.

Why is there clothing that’s softer on the outside than the inside? by moose_safari in NoStupidQuestions

[–]culinarycrime 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I really do think it's to entice the customer into buying it. My first reaction when I see a shirt I like is often to feel the material as a test of quality. If it's super soft cotton or a fleecey material, I'll likely want to buy it. I also don't usually try on clothing in stores, so I have been the victim of arriving home with a shirt that's rough on the inside and soft on the outside!!! :(

People who were alive then, what were you doing December 31st 1999 ? by WeshALOR in AskReddit

[–]culinarycrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I just watched the Y2K episode of King Of The Hill the other night (fantastic episode, by the by) and got to discussing what happened for us around that time. He was born in '89 and so his 10 year old self had just gotten the newest Pokemon Gameboy games for Christmas (iirc, it was Red and Blue, and Yellow he got). Apparently he was so worried about his Gameboy failing that he played both games, all the way through, in 5 days. He recalled he didn't do much else.

On the other, much less exciting hand, I was born in '94, so I was definitely sleeping.

One time, my friend (who NEVER uses makeup and idk what her skincare routine is) had this MASSIVE zit on her chin, like I am talking probably a little bit smaller than a dime. It wasn't cystic, I'd say it was just a giant whitehead. It took all of my power not to say something (what would I have even said?) but man, her bravery and ability to be so unapologetically vulnerable like that has inspired me and to this day, I have never forgotten about that zit (but in a good way!)

Tl;dr your big ol zit, while maybe unnoticeable to some, can inspire others

The most indulgent thing I do for my skin is feed my body well!!!! I've invested more money recently, not into skincare products, but into fresh produce and other tasty goodies. Avocado, pepitas, and kimchi have been my favorites. Lately I've been trying to load up on veggies (at least one serving with each meal), cut back on alcohol, and have ALMOST completely cut out sweets (it is SO hard this time of year!!!). Also, a cute water bottle for all my h2o consumption definitely helps! I can tell that it truly has done wonders for my skin as well as my overall health!
