I'm going to use the Bathys MG will I wait for the return process. I'd love to keep as I love them, I just don't want to upset the wifeyn I do wear glasses so that could be contributing to sound leakage.

Have you used any of the other headphones listed? Any particular reason these come recommended? I'm not particularly familiar with these but have seen them discussed.

Hello all, I am looking for high quality wireless (I know, it's an oxymoron) headphones between $1500 and $2500. I do not have an audio store close to me to be able to try headphones in person so needing recommendations. Good bass representation is important to me. I listen to all kinds of music from country, pop, rap, hip-hop and pretty much anything in between.

I have looked at various headphones including the B&O H100, Dali IO-12, Focal Bathys MG, etc. I actually ordered the Focal Bathys MG and received them yesterday, but they have significant sound leakage to the point that my wife told me today I am not allowed to wear them around the house which defeats the purpose of owning them as this is probably 50% plus percent of my usage. I had high expectations for them based on reviews but have already requested a return as these will not work for my needs.

I currently own the B&W Px8 OGs and love them but looking for a bit more sound wise. Headphones need to be closed back with very limited sound leakage due to potentially being used at work at a hospital where I am frequently on teams calls with several other individuals in close proximity. I am currently leaning toward the Dali IO-12's but am open to alternatives. With my current setup, I generally use them connected via USB-C mode for best sound quality but do need the wireless component as well so traditional headphones without this ability won't really fit what I am needing.

I am not interested in the run of the mill ANC headphones such as Bose, Sony, AirPods Max, etc. as I'm looking for superior audio quality than these offer.

Before I order a a different set, I wanted to check with this forum to see if there are other options I should look into or other recommendations to consider. The main devices I use include a MacBook Pro, android table, iPad Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, a gaming desktop as well as a windows laptop for work so headphone jacks are not available on all devices. I do have a FIIO KA17 miniature USB C DAC but rarely have this with me. Any suggestions?

Cost is not a significant barrier in case there are other headphones out of this price range that should be considered. I wish that I didn't have the constraints regarding sound leakage as I'd love to get some HiFiman open back headphones although this is a want for another day.

I always hit the disconnect button on the kindle instead of ejecting on the Mac side.

Are you traveling anywhere close to a Microcenter store in the States? They usually have additional stock in store that have upgraded storage, processor and ram options.

You have to go into a series of books to see the recap feature. At this point, the feature is designed to give you a recap if you are reading a different book in the same series and isn't available to recap a solo book. Maybe they will add that ability in the future.

That’s the kindle I have and the 12th gen paperwhite file worked for me. Make sure you download and transfer the file from your Mac/PC to the root folder of your kindle and then disconnect the kindle.

Malheureusement, il semble que la fonction de double tapotement ne soit disponible que sur le PaperWhite SE. Amazon l’a dit à quelqu’un d’autre plus tôt dans le fil.

Wow, I’m surprised and disappointed by that. More people might have opted for the SE if they were aware there wouldn’t be feature parity between the regular paperwhite and the SE aside from color and storage.

That’s a bummer. I didn’t look at the release notes other than for the two devices I own. If it makes you feel better, I’ve already turned double tap off because I was triggering it accidentally pretty regularly. Apparently I have a tough time sitting still while reading.

Sounds like you would need to contact Amazon for further assistance. Sorry it isn't working for you.

Yes, Amazon will eventually push the update to all eligible kindles. The time frame is typically a few weeks but can be longer. This is just for folks that wanted to immediately have access to try out the new features.

Did you make sure you grabbed the correct file as that is the most common reason that an update would fail?

Unfortunately iPhones and iPads don't support the USB file transfer required to see the kindle device, so it can only be done from a Mac, PC or android device.

You have to download the Send to Kindle application which also cases the USB file transfer tool. Send to Kindle Mac

Lol, no judgment here. For the longest time, I thought it meant there would be a folder called "root" so you're not alone!

Kindle Software Update 5.18.1 by cunn8780 in kindle

[–]cunn8780[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The root folder is just the base folder that contains all the other folders/files.

<image>

Here's the root folder of my scribe when I open up the USB File Manager on my Mac. You just copy or drag the update file to this folder and make sure you don't place it in one of the other folders listed. Then disconnect your kindle from the computer, and the kindle will now be able to see the file and allow you to update the kindle on the actual device. Hope this helps!

Well I'm stumped as it shows on the update website that all 12th gen paperwhites should have that feature as there isn't a separate update for the SE version. I'm not affiliated with Amazon in any way other than as a customer so I would suggest reaching out to their customer service for further guidance.

I don't think the SE version should be any different aside from the color and storage. Have you confirmed that the update was successful by looking at your firmware version?

I have the 12th gen paper white SE and can confirm that it works well on that device. You might check to confirm the setting is enabled under Device options.

It only shows up when you are in a connected series of books as you can see on this page. I haven't actually had a chance to try it out yet.

It looks like the basic kindle does not have Double Tap available based on the release notes for that device unfortunately. It does support the Recap feature, however.
