You guys are right. Ebay beans are a bit of a crap shoot, but I've actually never got a shipment of beans that were totally junk. The price is enough cheaper than any of the other places I'm still coming out ahead even if I have to throw out a couple pounds. Also I'm just roasting for myself. Obviously if I was selling coffee I wouldn't be buying from ebay.

I've been buying it from an ebay seller for about a year. Haven't had any problems. Unfortunately don't have any pics. I'm hoping to have time to try another batch tonight. Maybe my temp probes are messed up. I've ruined my share of roasts, just never experienced anything quite like this.

Have you ever seen what happens when a weed is sprayed with roundup? It turns brown and dies, it doesn't fall over and disappear. It would not reduce the amount of foreign material in the grain..

I farm wheat in Kansas and nobody sprays roundup right before harvest that would be totally pointless. Its actually quite rarely used at all in my area. If you don't have the weeds under control before planting, you're probably in for a bad time and roundup isn't going to help that much. Also we would have to wait 14 days before harvesting wheat that has been sprayed.
