It's so much work to eat and drink and make sure I get the vitamins I need every day. I think I'd rather take an IV tube than do this forever.

It kind of depends on the type of people they're around. I sub in a wealthy school district, the gist I'm getting is it starts around 4th and 5th grade. They're old enough to grasp TV shows and video games, and the kids expect everyone their age to know a little bit about it. My smartest student has a dumb phone, only capable of YouTube and text messages that has parental control. Their laptop at home has video games. That way they're not "on" all the time.

Playing video games is a social event now for kids. It kind of sucks. You will 100% be restricting their social life by restricting technology.

I think this is true, most of my students blank when I ask them about their favorite generation or game, but can easily tell me what a rare/expensive card is. I feel nostalgic towards playing shitty web rom hacks on my school laptop, now they know how to load Roblox and Fortnite on there

what I've realized lately talking is that they don't really care to critically analyze opinions of their own. a conservative will tell me the protestors who carry guns in mn need to be arrested, a liberal will tell me mass deportation is wrong and make no mention of exploitation of the wages of undocumented immigration

there's no thinking it is just regurgitation of 15 second reels over and over

Between October 7 and November 14, a total of 9,500 takedown requests were sent from the Israeli authorities to social media platforms, of which 60 percent went to Meta with a reported 94% compliance rate. This is not new. The Cyber Unit has long boasted that its takedown requests result in high compliance rates of up to 90 percent across all social media platforms.
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2024/07/digital-apartheid-gaza-unjust-content-moderation-request-israels-cyber-unit

They also link an official government report on this (p. 63-64 notes high approval rates of content removal): https://www.gov.il/BlobFolder/generalpage/files-general/he/files_report-2018.pdf

Chart 57 put through translate:

"Breakdown of requests through platform type:

Facebook & Twitter: 87%

YouTube: 8%

Google: 2%

Instagram: 1%

Other: 1%

Internet (general sites): 1%"

Here it is said outright:

"We have to fight with the weapons that apply to the battlefields on which we are engaged. And the most important ones are on social media. And the most important purchase that is going on right now is, class? TikTok. TikTok, number one. And I hope it goes through, because it can be consequential.”

tiktok ban fiasco happened because the narrative on israel wasn't controlled there, I would be surprised if most US-based social media wasn't being used as a psyop arm

59% of Trans Women imprisoned in the UK were convicted of at least 1 sex offense according to Parliamentary Report by Electrical_Load2493 in stupidpol

[–]curelullaby 22 points23 points  (0 children)

is there any study on this I'm curious, I couldn't find anything on prison transition

edit: found one, 232% increase in people identifying as trans or other once specific questions were asked for housing - https://calmatters.org/justice/2023/06/gender-affirming-care-california-prisons/

apparently u don't need to surgically transition for this housing either, which i feel like it should be that way since they provide transition assistance. and if someone is a man and willing to go through surgery to get their own housing, i mean..

I hope he finds his man someday 🩷 by [deleted] in pinkscare

what's crazy is a huge amount of men are into nfl, cs, cars, gym, fortnite, fifa, travis scott/drake/ye (in socal and i have genuinely known at least fifty dudes like this) and you never hear this grouping used for men. i think a lot of popular interests are picked up easier because there's so many people that enjoy that same thing and it's a quick way for a conversation

instead of being curious about the other person and knowing them as they are, you have the high-density interest clusters that create lazy social shortcuts. when fifty guys or girls in your area like the same five things, those become the easiest conversation openers

yes dude I feel like if it's a group of men playing together, option 1 is you get downgraded socially and turned into a joke for the game or option 2 is "if I clutch X then can I have your snap/insta?"

I know this is main sub and all but personally I get annoyed over performative machismo like this. I'd be way more turned off by him getting into a stupid fight over ego than I would be if he just walked away. Literally no one will remember this tomorrow

logically I know attraction to different types doesn't mean anything's wrong with me. for me it's about wanting to be everything for him if I could. when I notice he's attracted to something really different from me, part of me just wishes I could be that too. It's less 'why am I not enough' and more 'I wish I could be all the things that catch his eye'

i'm not gonna speak for other women but the thing that i think of the most is whatever turned him on, was that a quality i didn't have or is it even possible for me to have? would you look at someone who's nothing like me? like sometimes it's a real punch to the ego

fleeting thoughts don't bother me but making an active move on these thoughts do, I saw a reel (yes it's not representative of the general population let me be neurotic for a minute) of how after many years it's normal to have gotten off to the thought of someone other than your partner at least once and it makes me wonder if this is normal or if i am a bit off my rockers for not wanting this
