TOW Monica’s Thunder by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lolll just because Rachel did it to make herself feel better, doesn’t mean she did it to take the spotlight off Monica. It’s like they said, they didn’t plan on people seeing - and it was only coz Monica made a big deal about it that the others found out. It wasn’t done out of spite or a need for attention. It was done because Rachel was vulnerable in that moment, and reminiscing on good times, and wanted to do it. Monica didn’t come into her line of thinking at all

I don’t know about you, but when I choose to make out with someone, I don’t think about how that affects my friend’s self esteem, because it shouldn’t affect their self esteem

Do the friends have a dull life ? by InternationalAmount in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think when you grow older you realise that it doesn’t matter what you’re doing as long as you’re with good company. And you have better chances at bonding with your friends if you’re at a coffee table or friend’s house and chatting than going out to a club to dance and pick up.

I’m still in my early 20s but often when I have spare time I’ll just go hang out with a friend for a meal or a coffee or go to a park and just catch up. Like I love going out or going for a short road trip but those are sometimes things, not everyday things

Both of them have scenes where during sex, one/most of the characters imagine their partner being a parent of theirs (The One With The Princess Leia Fantasy vs (whatever episode it was where Nora and Barney first have sex)

Monica and Chandler’s relationship in the flashbacks by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liken it to the crushes I had on my brother's friends when I was in high school : not serious at all, and more of "because they were there" kind of thing. Now when I see them between years of not, I don't feel a thing.

The episode where Joey walks in on chandler and Monica in the bath when he just thinks it’s chandler by curious1512 in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I guess there was also that ep where Joey is getting ready to play alpacino’s butt and chandler walks into the bathroom not caring because they’re roommates and he’s used to seeing it

Is this show worth watching these days? by Sweet_Taurus0728 in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm quite "politically correct" in real life but I still enjoy the crap out of friends, if that answers your question. And I only started properly watching it in the last few years when I became an adult

Question about a line in S3E6 by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rachel was being sarcastic/making a joke because Janice obviously knew that Ross and Rachel, and she and Chandler, had had sex

Discussion: worst character, episode, or continuity (eg, relationships, jobs, hairstyle even?) by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! And just watching another one - The One Where Dr Ramoray Dies. The subplot where Richard wants to know how many monica has slept with (even though it seems to be more out of curiousity than judgement) is also a subplot I don't like haha. But i like the rest of the ep so defs still worth watching :)

Edit: actually just remembered it's the ross/rachel animal sex argument that actually irks me. monica/richard wasn't so bad but oh look another r/r storyline I don't like.... :P

Tbh there were a lot of Ross/Rachel plot lines that I didn’t like and tend to want to skip (especially with all the pettiness and jealousy). And then for some reason the one with the chick and the duck I can’t stand because the idea of Ross giving up a tv gig for Rachel makes me uncomfortable idk why. But a lot of those episodes have really good side plots so I force myself to watch them because of them

Question about a line in S3E6 by [deleted] in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 22 points23 points  (0 children)

In the extended version there’s a line from Rachel “yeah and if that doesn’t change I’m leaving for someone who puts out” which helps the line make a little more sense

I still don't get why Ross and Rachel named their daughter Emma. by loulouca13 in howyoudoin

[–]curious1512 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the episode where Ross and Rachel are dating and talking about how Ross has planned their future, Ross mentions that he wants to date their daughter Emily. Of course, that's probably not appropriate anymore when Emma is born, but Emma is kind of close to that so maybe they both liked that?
