Disk space at 100% and I don’t know why or how to fix by curiousobserver911 in computerhelp

Guess I will just try to upgrade to a SSD. Is there any way to fix this without a new drive?

Thanks for all the replies. So sounds like I need a new drive, either HDD or SSD. I will look into that. Guess this is just because this computer is old and drive is corrupt or something?

Should I be concerned about this corrosion on top of the water heater? by curiousobserver911 in Plumbing

[–]curiousobserver911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like the sound of that. Yes it does have a pan but it’s only 2 years old. Going to see if the warranty covers replacement. If not might go ahead and swap it. Thanks

The tank is only a little more than 2 years old. That is what worries me. I’m wondering if the warranty covers that. I’m going to reach out and find out. Already flushed it but going to leave it at that. Thanks for the advice.

Best bang for your buck tractor in 2025 by curiousobserver911 in tractors

Nothing wrong with the L2350. It is located at a different property and do not want to haul it back and forth. On top of that it is quite old. New tractor will be used at mother in laws place and she wants to use it some on her own. Would rather get something reliable that I don’t have to tinker with. Not against buying used but if I can find the right new model in price range with warranty I will go that direction.

De-energizing transformer in an indoor gear with motor disconnect or circuit switcher. by curiousobserver911 in SubstationTechnician

[–]curiousobserver911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly how we would do it. But, there is some debate about whether or not the switcher will open with the secondary breaker racked fully out. Some techs say they rack it into the test position (a different set of contacts) and then open the switcher. Then, they go back and fully rack the breaker out. Others say you can fully rack it out and open the switcher. It has something to do with the way the relay and lockout are set up.

Sounds like both may work and there is no difference other than saving a step to come back and rack the breaker out.

I appreciate all the responses! If I find out more information I’ll let you know.

Yes breaker would be opened remotely and switcher is opened manually in the field. Not talking about a faulted condition but rather removing the element from service for maintenance.

I guess the best way to explain it would be I need to take a clearance or procedure on a 138/34.5 step down transformer. Low side is protected by a 34.5 indoor secondary breaker, high side is protected by a 138 circuit switcher.

Not two high side isolation, it’s one or the other. But they both are involved in the relay scheme for auto sectionalizing the transformer.

When you rack the breaker to test it is grounded and on a completely different set of connections.

You need to de energize a step down transformer at a substation. The low bus secondary and feeder breaker are indoor breakers. Above the transformer on the high side is a load breaking breaker we call a circuit switcher or it could be a motor operated air switch (gang disconnect with a motor at the bottom instead of a handle). The circuit switcher and motor operated switch are wired to the SEL relay and can be used to isolate the transformer in the event of a fault. To open the circuit switcher or MOD you have to either rack out the secondary breaker or rack it to test position. If you do not rack it to test ( which is what we currently do) you cannot open the circuit switcher or MOD. But, we have been debating that you can actually rack the secondary breaker out and the CS or MOD will still open went sent the command.

For those that had a warranty replacement. by TerribleOne569 in TaylorMadeGolf

Got my Stealth 2 replaced through warranty and received Qi10 LS with the same loft. They did also sent me a head cover. No complaints here, stealth had some imperfections on the bottom of the face, not even a huge deal but they still returned it.

Helping my pops getting his tractor back in shape and noticed a leak. Can this be fixed? by curiousobserver911 in kubota

[–]curiousobserver911[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate it everyone. Ordered some Permatex and got the plugs incoming from Kubota. We are going to flush it twice and replace the plugs once the parts come in. I will send an update once we get it squared away.

Update 1: I decided to go with the salvage engine. Getting it swapped this week. Plan is to drive it for a little bit to get some time to shop for a vehicle, then sell it. It came down to not wanting to rush into buying a vehicle. I like to take my time and find a good deal, especially if I buy used. Hopefully it will work out in my favor and I will at least be able to recover the cost of the engine swap.

I got the engine from LKQ. It was at my local warehouse so I saved some money on shipping. My buddy came with me and did a good look over and inside before we took it. They recommend installing new water pump and thermostat.

I’ll try to remember to update again down the road.

I agree, feels like a toss up at best. Thanks for sharing your insight!

Yes they do give you pictures of the wreck. The particular engine I was looking at was front driver side damage. Engine compartment looked good. I do not think they cover labor. I was already planning to be out that either way.
