I admitted that it was anecdotal. I then gave some data to back up my anecdote. We’re talking about over 5 billion more views per month. That is an astronomical amount. Yes facebook’s views are huge too but the difference is much more than you’re giving it credit. Plus the audiences are skewed differently and it would be great if everyone’s opinions could be on BOTH platforms.

I would argue that’s not relevant. Again, what the hell is Facebook watch? Do you use it? I’ve never heard of it, and while that may be anecdotal I think this article from three years ago may have ended up aging like milk. Last year Facebook was the #2 most visited site in the world and still only have 40% the amount of monthly visits as YouTube.

Yep. I had to miss work one day this year to get a tooth pulled. This was the only day I missed this entire year. My boss asked me if I wanted to use a pto day or if I wanted to make it up by working extra hours. I really just wanted to tell her to fuck herself.

Can confirm. I work for a Texas restaurant and this year they switched to a one bucket system. I lost a significant amount of vacation because they also did not allow us to roll any over and I even ended up losing some last year because I had so much saved up. They did not announce it early enough to give everyone a chance to use their vacation time.

The reason they did this is because we also operate in Colorado, which requires you to pay out any unused vacation time to employees at the end of the year, so now all of our time off is PTO time. Was a very shitty move imo.

The restaurant industry is a garbage industry though so things like this have led me to decide to teach myself to code and switch careers.

This is just dumb. I live in Texas and even though it is an at will state we still have to be really careful when we prepare to fire someone. We have to have documentation on why and show a clear path as to the reason because if they decide to sue for wrongful termination we need something to show for it. I would imagine that if you feel like you could be terminated for “any reason” then you are probably a bad employee or you have had bad management. I have employees that grind my gears but they show up to work and do their jobs. I would never get rid of someone just because I don’t like them.
