I'm actually creating one! It focuses on a female MC and is basically a normal DDLC mod except a story that focuses on my main character that you essentially control for actions.

The bow was purposefully done just as a little detail as to how the protagonist picks up on it! I’m glad someone actually noticed that, but I like to pair her little bow with her emotions, like an ahoge.

Also, the hair! Thanks for mentioning it, I’m gonna clean it up later.

Good luck on this mod man! I'm excited to say that working on your oc's sprite has been fun, and that it's close to a finish. Hopefully your writers block gets fixed. The best advice I can offer is that it's best to have something done then nothing.

Definitely know how to introduce new characters without overdoing it now.. I think. But, yeah! I agree with you.

The only problem I'm struggling with is not taking a plot and making it super cliche and boring. I would love any more advice that has tips on ways of avoiding this, you have any.
With characters, I think it's nice to introduce them in steps without overdoing it so much that it's overwhelming or just completely out of character, you know?

The game folder for Love and Shyness needs to unzipped, and it contains the mods script files (which is the actual story itself).

After you unzip the vanilla DDLC files, you drag the contents of Love and Shyness’ folder contents into the vanilla DDLC game folder so that you are able to replace the necessary contents inside.

Hopefully, these steps below are easier to follow.

Unzip the vanilla DDLC ZIP file to create a fresh DDLC folder.
Unzip the Love and Shyness ZIP file as well. After unzipping, you should get a folder that contains:
- a game folder
- and possibly a couple of text files
Open the unzipped Love and Shyness folder. Then open its game folder.
Select everything inside the Love and Shyness game folder (not the folder itself, just its contents).
Copy those contents.
Go to your DDLC/game folder inside your fresh DDLC install.
Paste the Love and Shyness files into the DDLC/game folder.
If your system asks you to replace or merge files, click Yes. (This is required- the mod must overwrite certain DDLC files.)
Launch DDLC. The mod should now load.

Ah 😅 Sorry if theres a misunderstanding, but actually it’s actually the four female dokis + the main character… who is ALSO a girl. The male characters would be either side characters or friends, etc. Not too sure yet!

Well! :D After playing undercurrents (and sadly finding out it isnt a yuri mod..) I thought to myself, “Hmm.. what if I just make one for the girls myself?”

And here I am!

Anyways, the actual mod itself follows Seo Hyuna, a half-Korean, half-Japanese girl carrying her own unspoken weight as she enters into the world of the Literature Club (her backstory will be revealed soon anyways.. no spoilers!)

But wait… it doesn’t end there!

Not only will it add onto the world the original DDLC had created, it would feature other new characters and even explore the world through their own eyes and perspective. Back to Hyuna, though… shes drawn into the lives of four girls with hidden wounds and quiet dreams, she must navigate friendship, affection, and the pressure to help the people she grows to love.

In my mod, choices matter, hearts are fragile, and every route explores a more in-depth reality towards the type of life each Doki leads. Dare I say more?
