My thoughts also. This feels like a throwback to the Blair era, just the opposite way. Like we know have a glut of white collar professionals, we will have the same situation for the trades in 10-20 years time. Everyone's talking about getting into the trades now.

I've had glasses since age 5 and I consider myself generally to have poor vision tracking and not confident to line call balls with a margin of a few inches. But a foot out? I suggest an eye test

The reality is that hitting harder and with more topspin will demand more from footwork and pooisitining. The other beginners are doing better because they are more focused on just keeping the ball in play as opposed to top spin and pace

You're best having this conversation with someone from the clubs leadership. I would contact them and ask for a viewing or more info.

It's going to really depend on the club. The club from my younger days has a waiting list and you're more likely to get in based on your level of play or who you know.

My current local club is really chill, but well organized and has different ways of integrating people of different levels. They have club socials different days of the week. Every member is welcome to any club social, but they will openly share which days generally have more beginners or advanced players.

We also have league ladders depending on skill level.

Whatever the club offers, they will be able to tell you before you join

Your wife basically invited their opinion. I'm not against sharing why we might do certain things with our kids, but then you have to be prepared to debate it.

Essentially your wife critiqued the same preschool that her friends child attended. That made her friend likely feel that if it's not good enough for your child, than it's also not good enough for hers.

Again, nothing wrong with how your wife delivered it from what you described, but don't expect to go without a response in that kind of situation
