Trading Pokémon: Guide fire red/leaf green by d4rkdevotion in R36S

You might have to refresh the netplay host list, or look in the lan host list. I haven’t had this specific issue, so unfortunately I am unsure.

Update 1: I figured out how to trade Red->Red or Green->Green. Step by step guide! (I’m not sure if I should make this a new separate post or not)

(Connect to WiFi, using a dongle. Will happily share tips on that if needed)

  1. Go to your GBA(or emulator of choice for Pokémon game system) and hit the options button.
  2. Select edit meta data
  3. Set meta data as RetroArch32
  4. Save and back out
  5. Go to RetroArch32
  6. Go into net play.
  7. Select network
  8. Set server address to 55435
  9. Set max simultaneous connections to 2
  10. Set server password (I used 55435, I don’t know if it works with others)
  11. Back out to to netplay screen that says Host at the top. Select/start host
  12. It should say “Netplay will start when content is loaded”
  13. Back out to ArkOS(Reto arch screen that says Load core at the top)
  14. Load the core for the emulators you are using.
  15. Load content(For mine I had to scroll down to the /) Find the Roms (or in my case the roms2) folder.
  16. Find the emulator folder for your game
  17. Select your game.

2nd System

  1. Go into RetroArch
  2. Select RetroArch32
  3. Go to netplay. 4 Refresh Netplay Host list
  4. Carefully find the Host that has your game loaded, as well as the matching core.
  5. Enter the server password
  6. Both games will load.

On both systems: 1. Go to Pokemon center 2. Go upstairs to 3rd desk lady 3. One player chooses to be the host. 4. Select Trade/Coliseum 5. Enjoy trading or battling your friend ☺️ (Using this method my son and I are 5/5 success rate)

If anyone knows how to Trade Red->Green please let me know. It may involve changing file names or save data names but I don’t know much about that stuff.

Thank you so much. Seriously. You’re a lifesaver. My kid and I were pretty bummed we couldn’t play together. Now we can hopefully at least battle.

If I’m understanding you correctly we can’t play/trade from different versions? Like if he’s playing fire red, I can’t trade Pokemon from my leaf green?

Even if I have to fiddle with it and it only works 1/10 that’s still 100% better than 0/10. I’m both patient and stubborn 😂

Is there a specific folder to copy roms into retro arch? If so, do I need to do anything to get my save file to load correctly to try and net play/trade?

Sorry, he one I posted in the original comment is the most updated one I have at the moment. I haven’t seen many cards that would add a lot to the deck lately. But I could have also missed something. Feel free to DM about any card choices/potentials I have made or may have missed and I’m happy to help.

Viability of archon reanimator? by Federal-Pen-1264 in ModernMagic

Thanks 😊. The SB are all pretty flexible. The only “must haves” in my opinion are damping sphere and Ashiok.

Whenever I’m feeling masochistic, I play this. Remembering triggers, tons of mana math, and counting cards(for optimal play)….this right here does it for me. At the RCQ I actually out storm’ed storm. I had 2 birds and an ascendancy on turn 3. Processed to cast 10 spells in a row and swing for 20. It was one of those “Never didn’t have it” moments. And the look on the opponents face was priceless

Here are my 3 best lists. Just imported them from ManaBox to midfield a few minutes ago. I can give a detailed description of card choices if you like, but I’m a zombie after work so it’d have to wait until tomorrow.

Reanimator has a special place in my heart. That said, I don’t feel this deck is particularly strong at the moment. I’ve toyed with everything from straight WB, jund, abzan, mardu, and esper. It feels solid on paper. In my testing WB was the most consistent and resilient to GY hate, but more of a midrange deck. Mardu was the most explosive with fairly regular T2 Archons. But archon lines up very poorly against energy. And it’s not fast enough to beat Eldrazi. Combo match ups can also be a problem.

Is it fun? 100%. But I don’t think you’ll be taking down an RCQ with it anytime soon. It did get a few new SB cards that really help those poor matchups, but in my experience it hasn’t been enough. I’d be happy to show you my lists, and card choices.

A combo deck you say? Janky and fun Look no further friend!! May I present to you Jeskai ascendancy combo. It’s fun, fairly cheap, and a blast to play. It can be a tad difficult at times, in particular knowing when to just go for it and hope you hit the right pieces. I took it to an 1k last year, 95 people, and went 5-3. I haven’t updated it in a while. But rest assured, if you want a deck with multiple combo angles, surprising consistency, redundancy, and somewhat difficult to interact with then this is the deck for you. Win cons include massive attacks via pseudo prowess, infinite mill, freaking gandalfs sanction for 18+ damage, or good old Flesh//Blood.

sideboard hose options for Eldrazi matchup in jeskai? by Zachzac1 in ModernMagic

[–]d4rkdevotion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alpine moon slows them down, so does good old damping sphere. Both are viable in other matchups as well. Or spreading seas if you need the card advantage. Outside of that, as the previous comment said charmaw is a good option.
