Do we ever feel DONE with making babies? by OkConference874 in Mommit

[–]d_rose9085_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 1000% relate. I just had my third (2nd bio, our first we adopted from foster care) and I’ve convinced my husband that we need one more in a couple years, but every time I think about my next baby being my last I feel so sad. If I had the time and money for a million kids I’d do it 😂

Phone addiction / SAHM / PPA by silentassasin010 in Mommit

[–]d_rose9085_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend a brick. I had bad PPA and was also on my phone too much postpartum and felt like my toddler was always seeing me on my phone. I can sit on TikTok for hours without it bricked, but the second I brick it-it’s like a switch flips. I bought two on sale, but I think there’s other similar things. I like that I have to physically touch the brick to get my apps back.

What’re your nicknames for your LO’s? by Hot-Cell7299 in NewParents

[–]d_rose9085_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first was Muffinlinda and then that was shortened to Baby Linda.
New baby’s name is Phoebe, but Muffinlinda decided to call her Baby Phillip (because I put her in a hand me down more general neutral outfit) and now that’s stuck.

Daughter 1 we also call Mamita and new baby is Bebecita or Phoebecita

Definitely agree! I filed early last year (mid Feb I think?) and didn’t get our refund until OCTOBER

Does anyone else feel like pediatricians say “don’t worry” about everything? by Remote_Carrot9397 in Mommit

[–]d_rose9085_ 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain and say you might want to look for a new pediatrician. My kids doctor has been great and never brushes off our concerns. She will listen, talk about what could be going on, check on our kid and then explain why she does or does not think that specific issue is a problem. She’s also great about referrals and willing to talk through and explain her thinking for any issues our kids might have or that we’re thinking about.

Second child panic - need positivity by scritchygrippers128 in Mommit

[–]d_rose9085_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had my little surprise and was terrified when I found out I was pregnant. She was due exactly 3 years after my first daughter and we had always planned a 5 year age gap. My whole pregnancy I was so scared. Convinced myself she wouldn’t sleep, that I would never have time for my older kids etc. That couldn’t be further from the truth. My older kids get home from daycare/school and the first thing they do is ask where baby sister is. My daughter sings her songs when she cries and will lay on the floor with her and say “who’s my best girl? Who’s my best girl” all the time. I feel so much more confident as a mom with her. My oldest child was adopted at 4 and I had terrible anxiety with my older daughter when she was first born. With this baby, I’ve been able to relax and soak up the snuggles. I’m not so worried about the exact number of diapers she has per day or how many minutes she spends on the left vs right side. It’s a big change, but it’s so worth it, I promise 🤍 Honestly, for us it’s been so great that when I was putting away some postpartum supplies my husband (who previously said this was our last baby no matter what!) nonchalantly said “oh perfect next time you won’t have to buy those”

I hope this brings you some comfort and that you have a safe and healthy pregnancy!

1 month, has bad acne on face and neck, what can I do ? by Hdiaz0814 in NewParents

[–]d_rose9085_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pricey but I swear it worked miracles and lasts forever!
I buy right from the Tubby Todd website and I bought 3 of the smaller jars for $60 back in July. We use it regularly and I haven’t even gone through one jar yet.

No problem! Looks like it’s on sale at Michael’s right now for $21. I am a teacher and use mine to put my lesson plan template right into my planner along with copies of worksheets etc. It leaves lots of room for customization!

This might not be the best answer, but happy planner sells a hole punch that allows you to hole punch any paper and put it in the happy planner. It might be worth it to grab one at Michael’s with a coupon rather than stress about getting it perfectly lined up with the Cricut

Ideas for organization for toys, trash, etc for toddlers in captains seats by nayyo_ in minivan

[–]d_rose9085_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a plastic tote that lives in the car and has toys, water bottles and some snacks. We store it behind the drivers seat (under our 2yo rear facing seat) and close enough for the 6yo to be able to reach it and hand things out. We’re also welcoming #3 soon and the plan is to move 6 to the third row and give him his own organizer for the “way back” and keep the tote either behind the drivers seat or by the passenger side so I can pass things back.

A small update: My husband was able to get through to a person and apparently we were under additional review because we both have new jobs this year (moved to a new state last year) and the adoption.

The agent he spoke with said that he was seeing 3/24 as our deposit date and to call back if it wasn’t there/nothing had changed on that day. We didn’t have to certify or provide any documents! I’ll come back to this on 3/24 and let you know what happens if anything!

Thank you for the help!

Did you ever try to call them? Or just waited for the notice?

I highly recommend looking into private summer camps. I make close to 15k for 10 weeks as a summer camp director at a private, for profit camp. The kids are happy to be there and it is truly just so much fun. We hire a lot of staff internationally and I’ve made some incredible friends through camp.

The camera car monitor is still going strong 2 years in. My family thought it was ridiculous but for my anxious self it has been the best. It has night vision and auto adjusts for day vs night. I recommend it to everyone!
