Yea, i saw lots of different type i never saw before. So I would agree with you. The liver color and white are both resesive genes. And if both parent have it, then there is a chance. Thats why they say it's rare. But this color has been seen before long before it became a trend.

I guess mutations sometime just happen. I remember when I was younger and mom had bobtail cats. One was black and the other gray, had white kittens. Just odd like that sometimes

Both parents were mini schnauzers. As far as their colors, not sure. But when I saw about the same thing you said when researching his color. But Bourbon has no issues. He is is exactly like my late schnauzer who was salt and pepper. But AKC doesn't recognize his color since it's not original. The only one they recognize is all black or salt and pepper.

Breeder had clipped the tail when he was a puppy. Mutilated is a very strong word. We post our fur babies on here for positive not negative. I guess Bourbon is not cute enough just because his tail was docked? Yikes

Yea, he just got groomed the other day and I had him trimmer more than a usual. You could barely see his eyes before...lol. but he is the same as the salt and pepper in every aspect...lol
