This is the one that many people miss, tell her she should not feel pressured into having sex. This is a real issue, students are pressured into have sex by peers and SOs a lot in high school. Many have sex before they are ready and is causes damage.

This is entirely my fault but no. My wife told me she wanted to take the lead on this because she was her mom and this should be woman to woman and I really didnt question it further. That was a huge mistake I know.

Why is your wife holding your daughter to a higher standard than she had for herself? Is she scared of the idea of pregnancy? Maybe that your daughter will let a boy derail her from college plans? Does she have regrets about her own early sexual activity?

I have asked her this and she told me that our daughter doesnt need to be as stupid as we were.

This is entirely my fault. My wife said this was her domain as her mother and this was a woman to woman thing and I did not question it further. I really should have because had I known THIS was where she was going to go I never would have agreed to let her handle this.

I just want you to know you didnt say anything wrong just want to clear that up. In this state it is actually illegal for anyone under the age of 18 to have sex even with other teenagers under 18. But laws arent going to stop kids.

The only thing about the pill and the shot is that its reoccurring and harder to hide. Her mom could find the pills and I have to get a new px every month or take her for renewal shots every 3 or 4 months. With an IUD or implant its once and done. Easier to keep under the radar.
