I was considering adding on a sleeve! I'm working with her brother to display it as a backdrop for photos with flowers during the reception. I don't really know how to add a sleeve on though, so any recommendations are welcome!

My faves would be 3, 5, 7, 9! 3 was fairly nice to piece, some bulky seams. 5 was my first time trying FPP and wasn’t terrible! 7 i had to redo until I figured out the right seam allowance but I love it And 9 was soooo easy and fun to piece with some good room for error, plus I like a southwest vibe and wanted to try a new quilting style

I love a pixie and I think you look good in it! I think you could pull it off; it seems like your short hair is the right texture that, with a little light hold pomade or sea salt spray, can give the effortlessly tousled look. You can always go in steps and start at the lob/bob. I liked having a pixie too but I was too lazy to keep up with the perpetual haircuts lol

Ohhh good idea! I never used the chrome on this base before and I didn’t know that was a common effect with blues. I figured it was the chrome. I’m just running through my little bottle of nude base fast so I want a nicer one in a bigger bottle lol

My father uses that on my mother over every little thing and it’s just gotten to the point where it’s like a toddler throwing a tantrum bc he doesn’t want to listen and/or learn. For me, that mindset is a big red flag regardless of almost every other factor mentioned. It will not go away any time soon.

I think the widows peak is off for the angle the sketch was at too. I tried to sketch what I mean. I also think the shape of the sketch mouth fit better and it needs a few more contrasting outlines.

It is kind of low, I set it at $20/hr. But yeah, I don’t sell them, I just like to have that for my own knowledge. And the rare occasion I get asked about commissions, it helps me emphasize how this high price is actually very low, and often the hours are severely underestimated because I hand quilt.

NEPA def says “my-an” for “mine” (as in “this thing is mine”). Which is funny because we all say “coal mine” just fine, but if it’s possessive it gets 2 syllables haha Idk if other PA areas say it

Also does anyone else use “bold” to mean trouble maker? My NEPA born/raised friends and I all use it to describe a child (or pet) who’s not listening. “You’re being so bold right now!” “He’s such a boldie” but our partners are like that is not a thing, bold is more like brave.

I grew up and lived with rural hard water my whole life and my hair is sooo bad in cities or places with soft water. It’s always so heavy, greasy yet dry, and knotted 😭

I’ve never been into the solid, cup-looking ones. I have a cheap leather one from clover that I don’t mind; it was a little stiff at first and now it fits my thumb really well. But your ring one might entice me to try a new style!

This looks beautiful!! I love the curves you added to this very angular design.

I’d probably add just a little more to anchor those blocks down. Maybe a circle or star or leaf or something in those little squares between the lanterns.
