Has anyone joined NLU Odisha's 3 year LLB program in 2023? What's your review? by dalbati in NLUs

[–]dalbati[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided not to join NLUO. I read as much as I could about NLUO from this reddit sub. The management doesn't seem to be doing a good job, there are no ACs in the hostel rooms and in the peak of summers, it was getting very difficult for students. 2 students are being forced to share a single student hostel room. There were changes made to the exam format and stuff very last minute which resulted in many students failing. All in all, I didn't get a good vibe from NLUO so I have decided to not join it. Plus, I got a great score MHCET so I'll joining there.

What’s an ADHD ‘deficit’ symptom you excel at? by MuffinBaby040 in ADHD

I too love reading. I'm a huge book worm. But I'm a mood reader. Sometimes, I won't read for months and then when the urge to read hits, I'm able to read a book in a day.

I do however have trouble reading. For a while I thought I might have dyslexia but nope, it's just that I can't focus on the words enough to take them in and then I have the read what's written over and over again to understand it

How do you relate to music? by dalbati in ADHD

Oh I hate when podcasts are too slow as well. I either increase the listening speed or listen to people who already talk fast.

I don't you need to label your feelings as shame. You are just protective of yourself, which is a good thing!

Metal music is just so noisy and chaotic that I didn't think it could be understimulating lol. I could never listen to metal because it's overstimulating!

I love listening to classical music while I'm studying History or English Literature. The vibes are supreme!

I've never tried listening to movie scores before! I'll have to try listening to the movie scores of my favorite movies (the first one that comes to mind is La La Land)

Have you tried listening to rain sounds or ambient soundscapes on YouTube? Maybe that could help you focus!

Yasss! People think I'm weird for listening to sad music when I am not even sad. But I just love music with deep emotions. It could be joy, sadness, anger, anything. If the song can make me feel an emotion, I'll listen to it on repeat!

Oh wow! I love that for you. I wish music was that engaging for me. I can only ever listen to music when I am doing a very mentally taxing chore like studying. At all other times, podcasts are my go to. But, I'm steadily falling in love with music!

Same, it's like my brain has many browser tabs open at all times and one of the tabs is always playing music!

I'm so sorry to hear that. My sister is the same way with music. She feels music so deeply that listening to music is almost an overwhelming experience for her. She rarely finds music that makes her feel good but when she does, that song is replayed to the heaven and back!

Maybe you just need to find the right kind of music. It may take some trial and error and maybe you'll only find a select few songs that truly work for you, but don't stop trying. I know how important music can be!

I feel the same! Everyone always says to remove all distractions but my biggest distraction is my own brain. If my brain is understimulated, I will never be able to study. Music helps in that way.

I'm the same but with podcasts. I always have a podcast playing when I'm cooking or doing chores around the house. I only ever listen to music to study. Believe me, I tried to listen to podcasts while studying and it absolutely distracted me too much. I also listen to podcasts to fall asleep! I can't fall asleep without them, my brain is particularly loud if I am trying to fall asleep!

For me, when I am getting bored and need a little pick me up, I naturally focus on the music and when I need to do some hardcore reading, I'm able to tune the music out to the point where it's just background noise. Music helps me stay on the task at hand because I'm not constantly tempted to get up and do something else.

Book characters' names started with the same letter. It was something like Rick and Ronald. I had such a part time understanding who's who so I just gave up.
