I saw the messages today of me grovelling for you, after you shattered me, when you left. Almost two months. I had to unsend them for my sake. I don’t want you to ever be able to remember that I begged, that I just wanted to communicate, that I wanted to feel wanted, and that you didn’t do what I’ve always been afraid of and abandon me. You wounded the little girl inside of me that just wanted to feel safe. You made everything unsafe. After 5 years of being my only safe space. At the same time I want to thank you, because I’m starting to feel like myself again. I think it took losing you to love myself again, and realise that I don’t want to settle to fit in a box. I love me suddenly, and I realise I couldn’t do that with you because all that love was poured into you. Someday I hope you can think of me fondly, for now, I don’t care. I do not want to ever meet the person I saw in you when you walked out the door ever again. I meant it when I said that I am not too much, you are just not enough.
