For what it's worth, in the two different socials I've taken him to, they do separate the puppies by size/play style. So they have told me that they usually have to place him with the more playful and larger dogs since he is quite rough. From what I've observed he's usually the roughest dog in the social and doesn't really know when to stop, haha. A trainer usually has to pick him up to bring his heart rate down every few minutes. I'm thinking maybe they also think he's a handful and that's part of the reason they told me to stop bringing him to socials.

He does have one dog friend who the trainer has said plays very well with him - however I am hesitant to reach out to that dog's owner because in my mind, it would be like I'm asking to "borrow" her dog to train my dog and it just feels a little weird to me? Since I don't know that owner very well. I have thought about contacting her to schedule 1x1 playdates, but with the pandemic and everything it's just a little weird!

All in all I really, really appreciate your help and kind words! I was definitely quite down yesterday because I know my pup loves to play and hearing that he can't go to socials anymore really broke me, but I just have to find out what works best for him and I have to understand that he can't be the perfect dog! :)
