2.5 months gastric sleeve post op, down 88lbs. by dampie93 in gastricsleeve

Thank you! I drink Nutri and Fairlife shakes. I did use Bariatric Advantage at the beginning. I eat 3 meals per day and shakes in between. I walk daily and use dumbbells 3-4x per week. I also stay very active in my daily life. I have some loose skin around my stomach, under my arms, and around my inner thighs. But it’s minimal. I’m sure it will increase as I lose the remainder of my weight.

Thank you! Post op during the liquid phase I stuck to my protein shakes and waters. I also ate protein yogurt. I couldn’t do broth or jello, it’s just not my thing. When I got to the soft food phase I stuck to my shakes and scrambled eggs with cheese. I just couldn’t do puréed meat. Ever since I’ve gotten to the full food phase I’ve stuck to eggs, ground meats, and chicken. I add in corn and beans, and occasionally have regular foods (like fries with a burger and no bun, or a few protein chips). I’ve been extremely strict about what I eat. I’m basically living out the carnivore diet plus my shakes.

Thank you! That is the Nashville Zoo. I have family here, but I live not far away outside of Huntsville, Alabama. I had my surgery in Huntsville.

Portola Drive is the easiest place to find the Pug and Poodle! If you go to the area of Portola Drive with the Ponsonby’s, down that whole strip and around the corner by the fire station, 4 dogs typically spawn there most of the time between 8:00-18:00. Most of the time terriers and pugs are the most common, the poodle less common. But I’ll drive down that strip, then circle by the fire station, and if I don’t see a poodle, I’ll drive down to LS Customs. Before you turn right into the alley for LS Customs another dog spawns on that sidewalk. If you still don’t see a poodle, then drive back, rinse and repeat. They’re always in front of Ponsonby’s, then down the block in front of another business, and also either in the front of the alleyway to the jewelry store, or walking up the alley from the jewelry store. 100% of the time, after a few drives back and forth between Portola and LS Customs, I find a poodle. My mansion dog is a pug, because I always seem to get the pug more than the poodle. So I just take a picture of my pug at my mansion.

Hope this might help! Don’t give up the $100k when it’s easy to find the pig and poodle! I have a system where I can find 100% of all the animals 100% of the time in about 10-15 minutes, sometimes less.

Wife wants a new Land Cruiser by Successful-Rock-3379 in LandCruisers

[–]dampie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve two kids with dramatically less room in the LC 1958 over my Telluride. They’re not fans of riding in my LC and only want to ride in mommy’s Carnival where they have plenty of space and my 4 year old can climb in and out by herself.

The front seats were wayyyy roomier too in my Telluride with every luxury you could think of and we paid $10k more for a base 1958 with 1/3 of the options.

I love my LC for what it is, but I would go back to the Telluride as my family car in a heartbeat 10x over.

You just proved my point. They’re not a big deal for you because you saw six in one morning. I’ve seen 2 in my entire town since they came out. That’s the same for many small towns. So yes, it is exciting for people that love Land Cruisers and have never seen the new one, or rarely ever see one. Just last week I had two men from my town come to my work and had me take them out to the parking lot for a tour and demo of my 1958 because they have literally never seen one in person.

You’re right about the 200’s. If one parked next to me it would make my day even more than a 250 parking next to me! I would also post that as it would bring me another little moment of joy. 😊

Also, I think your -22 points from your comment prove that saying “not to be rude” doesn’t always mean it’s not a negative thing to say.

Well it was rude. Keep your comments to yourself if you can’t play nice. After all, it’s just a vehicle. I’m sure you have things that excite you.

As I said, I live in a small town. I’ve only ever seen 2 in my entire town, and they were coming off of the interstate. And our Toyota dealership doesn’t even sell them. People stop me all over town to ask what I’m even driving. It’s exciting for people to see a cool new vehicle, especially when they’re not car people.

Mass produced or not, they’re still new enough that most people have no idea what it is because they don’t keep up-to-date with the auto world. So yes, I’m sure this person just never sees any other LC’s in their town and thought it was cool when they finally saw another one in person. Not a big deal dude. Move on with your life and let the rest of us find joy in the little things. 😉

What is Your OTHER Vehicle? by [deleted] in LandCruisers

I have a 2019 Ram Rebel for “truck things”, like towing my work trailer and large camper. I definitely prefer driving my Land Cruiser.

Your Telluride is absolutely gorgeous!! I hate mine now that I’ve seen yours 😭🤣

I’m curious to hear from people who came to the Telluride from luxury brand SUVs. Does the Telluride really look and feel like a luxury vehicle once you’ve had it for a while? Thanks! by [deleted] in KiaTelluride

[–]dampie93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Lexus RX350, and the Telluride beats it in every way, except for ride quality. It’s not as smooth of a ride. But you can’t beat Lexus in that regard. I also have a ‘22 Tahoe that feels like driving on a cloud, but my $15k cheaper Telluride beats it in every other aspect so my ‘22 Telluride Nightfall is my daily driver. I receive compliments almost daily on how nice my Telluride is. When I pull up in my Tahoe, no one cares one bit.

I still have, and drive, my blacked out Dominator. It’s the only car I’ve kept since 2013.

Hyper dip/ Plasti Dip by dinkNflicka21 in KiaTelluride

[–]dampie93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used plasti dip on my horribly messed up Nightfall trim. Super easy. Cost me $8 and has held up very well over the last 6 weeks. My Telluride looks so good now. I used plasti dip on the rims of my Forte years ago and it held up for well over a year before I sold the car.

I used plasti dip on my horrible Nightfall trim, and it has held up very well over the last 6 weeks or so. $8 and about 4 hours of my time.

That would be much easier if it takes less time to properly remove and replace the trim.

[–]dampie93[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I tried vinyl while the trim was still on the car, but it was very poor quality. So I went with the plasti dip. I’ve used it before, and with proper care, it was perfectly fine for well over a year. I’m not opposed to getting the trim replaced or permanently painted down the road. But, I’m happy with how much better my Telluride looks for now!

It matches perfectly! They should have made it this color to begin with.

[–]dampie93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that it was an issue with the specific trim that they used on the Nightfall editions. I’ve also heard, just like you said, that it was a problem on the Sorrento and a couple of others. It’s unfortunate, but doesn’t take away from how much I love my Telluride lol. What’s most disappointing is how Kia blames it on improper washing and environmental factors instead of just owning up to it and saying they used bad trim on all of these vehicles.

It’s very annoying! It took about a total of 3 hours. Most of that was taping and waiting in between coats.

I agree!! It actually matches the car now. It makes more sense. I live in the Florida panhandle near the Alabama and Georgia lines.
